CNN: Vulnerabilities of US Military Presence in the Middle East Glaringly Obvious

News – World: CNN sheds light on the weakness of the US military presence throughout the Middle East, stating that "vulnerabilities of the sprawling American military presence across the Middle East are glaringly obvious."

The American network mentioned that Gaza may be where the war is happening now, but across the Middle East the warning lights of more trouble to come are blinking red, indicating recent US interventions. This includes the interception of missiles launched by Ansarullah from Yemen by a US Navy ship, as well as several American bases in Iraq being targeted by drones, similar to incidents that occurred at US bases inside Syria.

CNN indicated that the United States is careening closer to the very real possibility of direct involvement in a regional Middle Eastern war. It noted that this is not the 1991 campaign to expel Saddam Hussein’s army from Kuwait or the 2003 invasion of Iraq, both preceded by months of planning and preparation. Then, the US and its allies determined the time, place, and scale of attack.

According to CNN, the US is scrambling to respond to events largely out of its control. And in this dangerous terrain, suddenly the vulnerabilities of the sprawling American military presence across the Middle East are glaringly obvious.

The network pointed out that while it costs thousands of dollars to move one soldier or Marine from the US to the Middle East, it’s just a bus ride for an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) soldier to get to Baghdad, Damascus, or Beirut.

The US may have the world’s strongest military, the CNN added, but as the American debacles in Vietnam and Afghanistan proved, that’s no guarantee of victory over a determined and resourceful foe. Or, in the case of the Middle East today, foes.

Earlier, Israeli media reported remarks by an American general, stating that Biden has made the US military "very weak and poor" in terms of manpower. The general, from a logistical perspective, said, "We are unable to provide support for many concurrent events in the world."

A few days ago, American journalist Tucker Carlson confirmed that the US military is weaker than at any time in the past fifty years. Carlson stated that "now is not the right time for a third world war because the United States will lose it," indicating that some countries will support "Israel" and the United States, but most nations will stand on the other side of Washington at this critical moment.
