Islamic Human Rights Commission Launches 'Boycott Genocide Supporters' Campaign

News - Middle East: Islamic Human Rights Commission has launched a massive campaign seeking a boycott of those governments and companies that support the ongoing Israeli genocide of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the non-profit organization based in London said that Israel has now been committing genocide openly in front of the world.

It further said that the UK and other Western governments were complicit in the ongoing genocide by the Israeli regime in the besieged Palestinian territory.

“Our governments are refusing to support a ceasefire to end the genocide, instead they are cheerleading the slaughter, providing arms and political cover so that Israel can continue exterminating Palestinians with impunity.”

“We must act now, to do whatever we can to oppose this genocide. One of the easiest things to do is to boycott those that support genocide.”

“There are many companies that support Israel and deserve to be boycotted, but this list of companies we have researched below is particularly despicable in that they have ramped up their support for Israel, often specifically for the military, whilst it commits genocide in front of their eyes.”

In recent days, thousands of people have taken to the streets in the British capital London to call for an immediate end to Israel’s atrocities in the Gaza Strip.

Among the general Western public, opinion polls show most Americans and Europeans back an end to Israel’s war in Gaza.

But senior officials in Washington and other Western capitals have said they wouldn’t be drawing any red lines for Israel, which has killed thousands of Palestinian civilians during a yet-ongoing war against the Gaza Strip.

The developments come as the Gaza-based Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance movements in separate statements recently denounced a decision by the United Kingdom to conduct surveillance flights over the Gaza Strip, calling the move a military involvement in the “genocidal war” on the besieged territory.

The statements came after the British Defense Ministry announced the decision on Saturday, to help locate captives held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The statement added that the UK should have “corrected its historically negative stance towards the Palestinian people,” and “atone for” the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which set out Britain’s aim to establish a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine.

The declaration is widely seen as the precursor to the 1948 Palestinian Nakba, when Zionist armed paramilitary groups, who were trained and created to fight side by side with the British in World War II, forcibly expelled more than 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland.

The statement said the Balfour Declaration is “the sin of the century,” stating that Britain is “making another mistake” and reminding the world of its "colonial and offensive" past.

Britain’s surveillance flights over the Gaza Strip will “put the British government at enmity with Palestinians and all freedom-loving people worldwide, who reject the Israeli aggression,” it added.

The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip early on Friday after declaring an end to a week-long truce.

Two months into Israel's genocidal onslaught against Palestinians, the regime continues with its air strikes and ground operations.

Israeli airstrikes have left at least 45 Palestinians dead in the central city of Deir al-Balah. The regime's warplanes targeted a residential building there. Over two dozen other Palestinians have been killed in Israeli bombings over the past few hours.

Gaza health officials say the regime is now encircling Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza with tanks. They say snipers are shooting at anyone moving in the area.

In the south, the regime dropped leaflets, telling Palestinians to flee to other areas.

Residents say the intense Israeli airstrikes in the south include areas where Israel had earlier told people to seek shelter.

A UNICEF spokesperson says safe zones in Gaza are neither scientific nor possible.

Israel has sent dozens of tanks into southern Gaza. The regime’s military officials claim they are in pursuit of Hamas members in their Gaza operation.

The Israeli aggression has so far killed around 16,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Another 41,316 people have been wounded as well.

Palestine seeks to include firms tied to Israeli settlements on 'terror lists'

In recent months, the Palestinian authorities have time and again also called on all countries to put individuals tied to settler terrorist organizations or companies investing in illegal Israeli settlements across the occupied Palestinian territories on their terror lists.

Palestinians have urged states to prosecute such entities or individuals and to prevent them from entering their lands.

This comes as the Israeli regime has been pressing ahead with its illegal settlement expansion in the Palestinian territories despite international outcry.

The United Nations has already published a list of companies with business ties to Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The international pro-Palestine Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement said the database was “a very significant first concrete step by any UN entity towards holding to account Israeli and international corporations.”
