News - Yemen: Yemen's Prime Minister of the caretaker government, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, has affirmed that the decision to impose a naval blockade on Israel stems from the genuine will of Yemen and stands as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian cause, supporting their struggle against occupation.

"The Yemeni navy's imposition of a blockade on ships heading to Israel marks a significant step in bolstering Palestinian resistance and breaking the siege on Gaza," he stated.

Bin Habtoor clarified that this naval blockade will persist until Gaza's siege is lifted and essential supplies like food and medicine reach the Palestinian population.

Highlighting the transformation of Yemen's political decision, he emphasized that the Yemeni maritime stance has shifted from a perceived weakness to a stronghold supporting Palestine's fight against occupation.

He stressed Yemen's unwavering commitment to standing with the Palestinian people in their plight and pledged continuous support through all available means.

On Saturday, the spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces issued a warning, stating that any ships traversing Yemen's territorial waters towards the occupied territories risk being considered legitimate targets unless Gaza receives vital food and medicine. 

Yemeni forces have conducted multiple operations against the occupied territories, including missile attacks and interceptions of Israeli ships in Yemeni waters. Reports indicate that Israeli shipping companies have diverted their vessels due to apprehensions about potential Yemeni force attacks.

The Israeli regime, backed by unwavering political and military support from the United States, has been conducting a campaign of genocide against Gaza since October 7. The aggression began following an operation by the resistance groups in Gaza known as al-Aqsa Storm. 

The Health Ministry in Gaza reports a high number of casualties, with thousands of deaths and injuries due to Israeli aggression. The regime has also imposed blockades on essential resources such as water, food, medication, and electricity, leading to a dire humanitarian crisis in the strip.
