News - World: Malaysia’s government announced Wednesday that it was imposing a ban on all Israeli owned and flagged ships, as well as any vessels headed to Israel, from docking at its ports.

The announcement by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s office said the ban would take place with immediate effect and was in response to Israeli aggression on Gaza.

“This sanction is a response to Israel’s actions that disregard the basic humanitarian principles and violate international law through the ongoing massacre and continuous cruelty against the Palestinian people,” the statement read.

The statement clarified that Malaysia is confident that the decision will not affect Malaysian trade activities.

In related news, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported today that no container of goods has reached Israel by sea for the past two weeks, and this situation is expected to continue for the next four weeks.

This move comes after the Yemeni Armed Forces took action on the 9th of December regarding targeting Israeli ships and ships heading to the Zionist entity of any nationality until the aggression stops and the basic needs for the Gaza Strip are allowed in, including food and medicine.
