The Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom quoted the Federation of Food Industries in "Israel" as warning of food shortages due to the war and Yemen's attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
The newspaper explained that heads of manufacturers and food industry associations have appealed to the chairman of the Economic Committee in the Knesset to hold an emergency discussion on the issue of food security, the Israeli supply chain, and emergency stockpiles.
It noted that the director of the Israeli Federation of Food Industries said that "Israel" must take action regarding emergency stockpiles, update the required quantity of food, and if it fails to do so, there will be a shortage of food for Israelis.
The Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a relentless military campaign against Gaza in early October.
Recently, Yemen's Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammed Nasser Al-Atfi, highlighted on Monday the readiness of the Armed Forces to handle all potential scenarios and options in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Bab al-Mandab, and the Arabian Sea.
He emphasized Yemen's preparedness to address various possibilities during his speech at the naval forces and coastal defense commanders' conference in 2023.
"We possess strategic deterrent weapons with ranges exceeding the expectations of our adversaries, and there are no limitations to our capabilities," he affirmed.
The Armed Forces have also launched attacks on ships linked to Israel sailing off the Yemeni ports. On November 19 as well, they boarded and seized a ship believed to be linked to the regime in Tel Aviv.
More than 20,674 people have been killed in Gaza since the Israeli regime launched its attacks on October 7, the day when the Palestinian resistance group Hamas carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the Israelis.
