Biden Administration Politically Committed Suicide by Aimless Aggression Against Yemen

World: The Yemeni position remains firm in preventing Israeli ships, or those associated with Israelis, from reaching the ports of occupied Palestine, thereby imposing a suffocating blockade on the Israeli economy in support of the Gaza Strip.

It also includes preventing the passage of American and British ships after their declaration of aggression against Yemen.

The Yemeni stance escalates and expands the scope of the blockade on U.S. and British vessels despite the threat of the Biden administration to expand the scope of the American-British coalition's aggression on Yemen.

This marks a new phase in the Yemeni-American confrontation following the latter's attempts at coercion and intimidation to neutralize Yemen's support for the besieged sector.

The onset of the American-British aggression against Yemen on the morning of Friday, January 12th, and its repeated occurrence, even in a limited manner, represents a new stage of escalation pursued by the current American administration and the United Kingdom towards unfriendly countries in the Middle East region to "Israel."

It appears that failure emerges as a possible outcome of the renewed American-British aggression on Yemen with its short-term objective of neutralizing the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces and suffocating Israel at sea.

This objective will not be achieved as long as the aggression and blockade on the Gaza Strip continue. This is evidenced by the resolute will of the revolutionary leadership in Yemen to continue along this path.

The leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badreddin al-Houthi confirmed that the position will not change with threats or aggression as a support front for the Gaza Strip.

In contrast, the American-British alliance is unable to neutralize Yemen, especially after reports from American officials stating that "much of Yemen's offensive capability is easily concealed, and finding targets is more difficult than expected."

The American-British alliance is left with empty options towards Yemen, which has built its military capabilities during a war that has lasted for about eight years and has endured various forms of hard and soft warfare, including economic warfare, from the current states.

"Self-defense, freedom of navigation"

The administration of President Biden has spared no effort and has used it to establish a maritime alliance, presenting it under the political cover of "freedom of navigation" and securing it. This has not been limited to Security Council Resolution 2722 alone but has been preceded by several statements:

First:

The statement issued by the Security Council on December 1, 2023, which condemned the actions of the Yemeni armed forces and considered them a violation of "navigation rights and freedom in the Red Sea."

Second:

The international position was announced by the United States, along with 44 countries, on December 19, 2023, with the same call to uphold "freedom of navigation" and the call for the immediate release of the Israeli ship "Galaxy Leader."

Third:

The joint statement issued by 13 countries on January 3 of this year, which stated that Yemen would face consequences if it continued its attacks.

Considering the political cover provided by the Biden administration for its aggression, "although it does not need political cover or specific motives to launch an aggression against any country," it reveals the extent of the utilization of international law principles such as "freedom of navigation."

It is as if the Western system has not imposed a long series of economic sanctions on Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, and China, and imposed a blockade on Yemen and the security of navigation in these countries.

It is as if "freedom of navigation" and the "smooth flow of shipping" do not include the arrival of oil and gas tankers to Syria or ensuring the access of the Russian "Nord Stream 1,2" gas pipelines, for example, among others.

Contradictions, scandals of electoral propaganda

Contrary to what Zionist imperialism promotes to market its involvement in the region, the current US administration fully realizes that it contradicts itself regarding the foreign policy pursued in the Middle East and Yemen specifically.

It classified the operations of the Yemeni armed forces supporting and related to supporting the Gaza Strip as a "major threat" that requires international action.

It started mobilizing military forces to the Red Sea and involving friendly countries to Washington in militarizing that region instead of addressing the cause and roots of the problem, which is ending the war that has exceeded 100 days on the Gaza Strip.

This contradicts Biden's administration program and his electoral propaganda, claiming to reduce US forces in the region and not to intervene in conflicts in West Asia, especially in the Arab region, in addition to ending "the war in Yemen" under the pretext of seeking de-escalation and peace.

Biden's administration has been supporting "Israel" militarily, politically, diplomatically, and even focusing on the unlimited media effort to distort the facts.

Fighting the same battle as "Israel"

It was not surprising that the United States and Britain used military force to try to neutralize the supporting front in Yemen after proving its significant impact on the economic level of the occupation entity, as well as Yemen's emergence as a rising regional power with capabilities, decision-making, and boldness that broke the dominance of the United States, which recently led it to make the decision to launch the aggression.

The Biden administration faces three main challenges:

The first concerns domestic situation in the US:

The Biden administration's decision to wage aggression against Yemen did not receive consensus at the political level in the United States, which was divided between supporters, mostly from the Republican Party, who considered the decision delayed because it poses a "major threat" to Washington's interests.

Others, mostly from the Democratic Party, accused the Biden administration of violating the U.S. Constitution, as the decision was made without authorization from Congress, and its consequences would affect its position in the presidential elections scheduled for November 5, 2024, about 10 months later.

This is especially true after the expansion of the blockade equation, which will affect all American ships coming from the eastern world towards the United States and its impact on the U.S. economy, threatening its loss in the upcoming elections.

The second refers to the EU:

The Biden administration has been working since the beginning of the tension in the Red Sea to create an economic crisis in the European Union countries by exerting pressure on shipping companies.

This is confirmed by the head of National delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, who said that "the suspension of operations by several shipping companies claiming increased risks in the Red Sea is a result of American pressures, exaggerations, and an inaccurate stance.

It only aligns with the biased American propaganda. There are hundreds of ships crossing the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait daily.

Consequently, with the escalation in the Red Sea, the US administration has pushed the European Union into an economic crisis, the repercussions of which will be significant, especially with the announcement of more European companies suspending their shipments through the Red Sea and disrupting supply chains coming from the East.

This comes in conjunction with the implications imposed by the Russo-Western war in Ukraine.

The third refers to internal situation in Yemen:

It appears that the aggression has undermined the groundwork that the Biden administration had been laying in Yemen, starting from the day after the war.

This is due to a lack of understanding of the social composition of the internal Yemeni dynamics.

The US-British aggression on Yemen has been met with widespread rejection by the major opponents of Sanaa, who are the most popular and influential figures in the Yemeni arena.

The rejection has even reached the point of announcing refusal and readiness to fight any forces that violate Yemen's sovereignty.

Furthermore, the British aggression has stirred up the memory of the people of southern Yemen regarding the occupation they suffered from, which has angered the southern street, which also rejects any foreign intervention.

The widespread rejection within Yemen comes after the Biden administration insisted on maintaining a state of de-escalation without a comprehensive resolution of the peace file, in order to "buy more time" at the expense of establishing its footholds in Yemen.

During the ceasefire and de-escalation period, Washington worked on presenting Rashad al-Alimi as a representative of the authority representing the interests of the Saudi-American coalition and empowering him militarily in the occupied Yemeni provinces.

On the other hand, it pushed the Emirati proxies to maintain their control over the ports and coasts of eastern Yemen, all the way to the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, serving Washington's strategic goal to tighten control over the strait and counter Chinese economic ascent and Russian military expansion, which are considered the two major challenges in its national security strategy, taking advantage of Yemen's location.

Finally, the implications of the US-British escalation cannot be confined to the Red Sea and its neighboring countries without affecting the European Union and the United States, especially as their interests are involved in the line of fire of the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and perhaps beyond.

The Biden administration will find that its involvement in the conflict with Yemen, at the expense of protecting Israeli interests, without a clear exit strategy or a way to achieve its main objective, has put it in a political suicide that contradicts all the electoral promises it made to the American voters during the presidential elections, not to mention the strategic losses that Washington will incur in its vision for the Middle East.
