News - Yemen:   Yemen’s Armed Forces announced the targeting of the US destroyer USS Gravely in the Red Sea, in support and solidarity with the people of Gaza, and as a response to the US-British aggression on Yemen.

“The Naval Forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces fired several suitable naval missiles at the American destroyer USS Gravely in the Red Sea,” the spokesman for the Armed Forces, Yahya Sare’e, emphasized in a statement on Wednesday.

Sare’e confirmed that all American and British warships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf participating in the aggression against the country are within the target bank of the Armed Forces.

He stressed that American and British warships will be targeted “within the legitimate right of defending our country, our people, and our nation,” reaffirming Yemen's supportive stance towards Palestine.

Sare’e stated that the Armed Forces confirm their commitment to preventing Israeli navigation or vessels heading to the occupied ports of Palestine until the aggression on Gaza ceases and the blockade is lifted.

Over the past month, the Yemeni Armed Forces have been staging many such strikes against Israeli vessels or those bound for the occupied Palestinian territories' ports.

The operations have been described as a response to the October 7-present war and siege that the Israeli regime has been waging against Gaza following an operation carried out by the Palestinian territory's resistance movements.

Around 26,700 Palestinians, some 70 percent of whom are women, children, and adolescents, have been killed in the brutal onslaught so far.

The United States and the UK have also conducted several missile attacks against Yemeni targets in response to the Yemeni strikes.

The latest operation raises the number of American ships targeted by the Yemeni Armed Forces to seven since January 10, following an attack on three Yemeni naval boats by US forces, resulting in the martyrdom and loss of ten Navy personnel on December 30.

Last Monday, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced the targeting of a logistics support ship, Lewis B. Puller, belonging to the US Navy in the Gulf of Aden with a naval missile.
