News - Yemen: In its Wednesday meeting, the Shura Council commended the heroic operation carried out by the Armed Forces, targeting the American destroyer USS Gravely, along with previous operations in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The Council sees these actions as a victory for the just cause of the Palestinian people.

Council members expressed their support for the continuation of operations in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until declared objectives are achieved. These include stopping the aggression and lifting the Zionist blockade on the Gaza Strip, allowing the entry of humanitarian and relief materials into the strip.

The Shura Council reiterated its endorsement of the solution proposed by the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, regarding the resumption of maritime shipping in the Red Sea, emphasizing that the solution lies in the hands of the United States. This proposed solution involves exerting pressure on the Zionist entity to halt aggression against the Palestinian people and accept the conditions of Palestinian resistance as fair and just.

Praising the operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces, represented by the Naval Forces, the Shura Council acknowledged their commitment to the directives of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council. These directives aim at securing ship movements in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and preventing those directed solely towards the occupied Palestinian ports.

Earlier in the day, Yemen’s Armed Forces announced the targeting of the US destroyer USS Gravely in the Red Sea, expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza and responding to the US-British aggression on Yemen.

Over the past month, the Yemeni Armed Forces have been staging many such strikes against Israeli vessels or those bound for the occupied Palestinian territories' ports.

The operations have been described as a response to the October 7-present war and siege that the Israeli regime has been waging against Gaza following an operation carried out by the Palestinian territory's resistance movements.

Around 27,000 Palestinians, some 70 percent of whom are women, children, and adolescents, have been killed in the brutal onslaught so far.

The United States and the UK have also conducted several missile attacks against Yemeni targets in response to the Yemeni strikes.

The latest operation raises the number of American ships targeted by the Yemeni Armed Forces to seven since January 10, following an attack on three Yemeni naval boats by US forces, resulting in the martyrdom and loss of ten Navy personnel on December 30.
