News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the US and UK aggression on the Capital and the provinces of Sana’a, Hajjah, Sa'adah, Taiz, and Al-Baidha. It decried this act as a blatant violation of international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

In an official statement, the Ministry highlighted that the relentless aggression by the US and UK exposes the Security Council's failure to uphold global peace, security, and civilian protection. The current composition of the Security Council poses a severe threat to the stability of the UN security system.

The Ministry emphasized that the US-UK aggression against Yemen aims to divert attention from the war crimes and genocide committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians in Gaza. It also serves as a tool to intimidate Yemen's leadership and people for resisting the US-Zionist aggression. Despite the aggression, the Yemeni people stand steadfast in their support for Palestinians, calling for humanitarian aid and an end to Israeli atrocities.

The Ministry reiterated Yemen's unwavering commitment to its humanitarian and moral duty towards the Palestinians, undeterred by US-UK aggression. The statement held the US and UK accountable for the safety of maritime navigation, and international trade routes in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Arabian Sea. The presence of their forces is deemed illegal and constitutes a form of occupation that should be resisted by all countries bordering the Red and Arabian Seas.

Late on Saturday, the US and UK executed new strikes on Yemen utilizing air and surface platforms, including fighter jets, with the backing of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.

In solidarity with the Palestinians in besieged Gaza, Yemeni forces have targeted Israel-bound ships in the southern Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and even in the Arabian Sea.

In response to the pro-Palestine maritime campaign, the US and its allies have bombed Yemen in violation of the country’s sovereignty and international law.

The illicit attacks prompted Yemen to declare American and British vessels as legitimate targets for its armed forces.
