Yemen's Parliament Condemns US-UK Aggression, Calls for Global Support for Palestine

News - Yemen: Yemen's Presidency of the Parliament held a meeting on Sunday chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament Yahya Ali al-Rai.

The Parliament reaffirmed Yemen's commitment to ensuring the security of international navigation in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, except for Israeli ships or vessels bound for occupied Palestinian ports.

It held the US and British administrations accountable for endangering maritime navigation and international trade in the Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, and the Arabian Sea, considering their military presence and warships unjustified and illegal.

The Parliament condemned the US aggression in several areas in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, resulting in casualties.

It expressed solidarity with Arab peoples in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon, underscoring Sana'a's dedication to regional security and stability, and urging an end to the heinous crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Parliament called on parliamentarians worldwide to take urgent action to support and defend the just cause of the Palestinian people in all Arab, regional, and international parliamentary forums.

It emphasized Yemen's demands, including an end to the war, lifting the blockade on Gaza, and addressing the dire humanitarian situation caused by Israeli actions against Palestinians and the destruction of their resources.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 28,000 Palestinians and injured more than 67,784 others.

Thousands more are also missing and presumed dead under the rubble in Gaza, which is under “complete siege” by Israel.

In solidarity with the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, the Yemeni Armed Forces have targeted ships in the Red Sea with owners linked to Israel or those going to and from ports in the occupied territories.

In December, the US formed a multinational military coalition against Yemeni forces in the Red Sea, through which 12 percent of global trade passes.

The US and the UK have been carrying out numerous such attacks against Yemen to pressure the country into stopping a series of operations that it has been conducting in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi has said the rising aggression by the "evil trio" of the United States, the United Kingdom, and Israel would not affect the determination of the Yemeni people to support Palestinians in the besieged strip.

Yemen has been conducting operations against the British and American warships that have been dispatched to the Red Sea to confront the Yemeni strikes.
