News - Yemen: Yemen's Armed Forces have announced a series of missile and drone strikes against a US oil tanker and several American warships in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who are enduring a genocidal Israeli war backed by Washington.

"The Naval Forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces conducted a military operation targeting the American oil tanker Torm Thor in the Gulf of Aden with several appropriate naval missiles," stated Armed Forces Spokesman Yahya Sare'e in an early Sunday statement.

"Additionally, the Air Force targeted a number of American warships in the Red Sea with several drones," Sare'e added.

He emphasized that the strikes were a response to the "plight of the Palestinian people."

The operations were also intended "as part of the response to the US-British aggression on our country," Sare'e stated, referring to the violent and often deadly attacks carried out by the United States and the UK against various targets across Yemen in reaction to the pro-Palestinian strikes.

The Israeli regime initiated the war on October 7, 2023, following the al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise operation staged by Gaza's resistance movements against the occupied territories.

So far, nearly 30,000 people, mostly women and children, have died in the military onslaught, which receives unreserved political and military support from the United States, Tel Aviv's main benefactor.

The Yemeni forces have vowed to continue their operations as long as the regime persists in the war and the accompanying siege imposed on Gaza.
