News - Middle East: Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warns that the continuation of Israel's war on the Gaza Strip during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan will place the entire region at the risk of an explosion.

“Continuing the aggression in these circumstances as Ramadan approaches will place the entire region at the risk of an explosion,” Safadi said in a joint press conference with his Bulgarian counterpart Mariya Gabriel in Amman on Sunday.
“Every day that passes with the war going unabated increases the risk of explosion and mounts its casualties,” he said.
Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic lunar calendar, will start around March 10 this year.
For her part, the Bulgarian foreign minister expressed her concern about the humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip amid the Israeli regime's onslaught on the territory.
“Jordan has proven itself as a peacemaker in the region and we support its efforts,” Gabriel said.
Israel waged its brutal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas carried out a historic operation against Israel in retaliation for the usurping entity’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
