News - Middle East: Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the ongoing adoption by the Zionist enemy of a policy of starvation and genocide against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip for the fifth consecutive month.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the starvation policy coincides with the military escalation that has devastated all areas of the Strip. It deliberately targets civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and has destroyed the majority of mosques and residential homes.

The statement emphasized that Yemen remains steadfast in its humanitarian and ethical stance in support of the Palestinians.

It stated that Yemen's military operations in the Red Sea, Bab el Mandeb Strait, and the Arabian Sea will persist in targeting ships owned by the Zionist entity and the aggressor US-UK alliance, or those heading to the occupied Palestinian ports, until the aggression is ended, and humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and fuel, can enter Gaza without hindrance.

The statement pointed out that the deterioration of the situation in the Gaza Strip will extend far beyond what the Zionist enemy and its supporters may anticipate.

It reiterated the call to member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League to assume responsibility and respond to the demands of their peoples by exerting genuine pressure on the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security. It emphasized the need to uphold the lives of innocent civilians as outlined in the UN Charter.

It also called for serious pressure on Washington and capitals supporting the Zionist entity to halt the war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people.

Israel waged its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The Tel Aviv regime has also imposed a “complete siege” on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed over 31,000 Palestinians and injured more than 72,000 others.
