Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Human Rights Hold Joint Press Conference to Mark 9th Anniversary of National Resilience Day

News - Yemen: Yemen's Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Human Rights convened a joint press conference on Tuesday to commemorate the ninth anniversary of National Resilience Day.

Foreign Affairs Minister Hisham Sharaf emphasized that National Resilience Day signifies a significant defeat for the US-Saudi aggression, asserting that after nine years, Yemen stands stronger as an advanced republic.

"It is an immense honor for us to confront the Zionist enemy and engage in this battle on all levels," he stated, underscoring that the atrocities, suffering, and devastation witnessed in Yemen over the past nine years cannot be disregarded.

Minister of Human Rights, Ali al-Dailami, highlighted the focus on exposing the crimes perpetrated by the US-Saudi aggression against the Yemeni people. He pointed out that throughout the nine years, the aggression has committed grave violations of international law, constituting serious international crimes as defined by international criminal law.

Al-Dailami further stressed that the United Nations has purposefully neglected to enforce the rules and provisions of international criminal law to hold the leaders of the aggressor states accountable and bring them to justice.

He added that the UN's inaction has emboldened the US-Saudi aggression to persist in its crimes and violations against the Yemeni people, their resources, and their properties.

Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, claiming the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power.

The US-Saudi aggression continues to target neighborhoods and populated areas and destroy the infrastructure and capabilities of the country, in light of a suspicious international silence.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
