Yemen Prevents Many Security Breaches Attempted in 9 Years of US-Saudi Aggression

Yemen: In parallel with the comprehensive military US-Saudi aggression on Yemen for the past nine years, there has been another war fought by the security forces, foiling its attempts to penetrate the internal front.

"The US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries wagered on achieving victories by penetrating the internal front. They disrupt security and tranquility, and target the lives of citizens through car bombs, explosive devices, and recruit terrorist cells, after failing to achieve any victory on the military fronts." This is how the Ministry of Interior summarized its confrontation with the US-Saudi aggression over the past nine years.

In its statement, the Ministry of Interior affirmed thwarting the crimes of the US-Saudi aggression, its mercenaries, and its terrorist tools such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda. It thwarted their criminal operations that attempted to target markets, public places, roads, service institutions, and police stations through car bombs, explosive devices, and suicide attacks.

It added that it foiled the destructive acts that US-Saudi aggression and mercenaries supported, financed, and endorsed, including crimes of drug and hashish smuggling and other criminal acts aimed at undermining, disintegrating, and tearing apart the Yemeni society.

In terms of numbers, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Abdul Khaliq Al-Ejri, revealed that the security apparatuses were able to apprehend 1,782 individuals affiliated with the aggression during the nine years. These were planning to carry out destructive schemes and assassinations in the capital Sana'a and other provinces. They also foiled 354 suicide operations by extremist individuals targeting citizens in public places, and seized and dismantled 3,693 explosive devices and explosives that were prepared by the aggression-affiliated elements to target the lives of citizens on roads and public places."

The Ministry of Interior highlighted the arrest of 1,160 members affiliated with extremist groups and 23,508 individuals recruited by the aggression to carry out sabotage operations targeting security and stability. Additionally, 2,157 individuals recruited by the aggression were apprehended for surveillance and target identification.

Observers consider this a significant security victory for Sana'a by all measures. Thousands of bombs, explosive devices, terrorist cells, and agents would have claimed tens of thousands of lives if they had succeeded in reaching their targets as planned by the aggression.

Another weapon that the aggression alliance attempted to exploit and target youth and society was drugs. However, the security apparatuses formed an impenetrable barrier against this scourge. They executed 13,943 operations, resulting in the seizure of hundreds of tons of narcotics, various drugs, and alcohol, all of which were being smuggled from areas controlled by the aggression and its mercenaries.

Comparing the stable security situation to the period preceding the September 21 revolution, it is evident that security deterioration prevailed during that time. Extremist groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS controlled vast parts of Yemen, with their camps and hideouts scattered throughout different regions and cities, including the capital, Sana'a, and its surroundings.

Assassinations, bombings, and attacks targeted civilians, civilian and governmental facilities, military camps, and security checkpoints around the clock. Even the sovereign state institutions, like the Ministry of Defense, were not spared from these attacks. All of this occurred under the so-called Yemeni partnership with Washington in the fight against "terrorism" and the presence of American diplomatic, security, and military personnel parallel to the proliferation of extremist groups in the country.

During the September 21 revolution in 2014, Taiz was the most important front targeted by the enemies to thwart the revolution. The first attacks faced by the revolution were carried out by extremists, striking demonstrations, mosques, roads, and schools in the capital and across the provinces.

Throughout the years of aggression, while Sana'a, engaged in war and suffering from the blockade, boasted its security achievements over nine years, reaching 350,082 security accomplishments. However, the occupied provinces under the control of American, British, Emirati, and Saudi influence witnessed a different outcome characterized by security deterioration, bombings, assassinations, armed conflicts, the proliferation of militias and armed groups under various names.
