News - Middle East: Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel urged for an immediate cessation of the "genocide" against the people of the Gaza Strip.

In a statement posted on the official Cuban platform, President Díaz-Canel emphasized, "Cuba will continue to raise its voice loudly as long as the Palestinian territories are being destroyed by the Israeli occupation.”

He added: "We call on the international community not to hesitate to condemn these crimes. Cuba stands against the genocide."

President Díaz-Canel accompanied his post with a picture showing the Jose Martí Monument, one of the most important landmarks of the Cuban capital, Havana, illuminated in the colors of the Palestinian flag.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated on Sunday that the toll of Zionist aggression on Gaza since October 7 has risen to 32,782 deaths and 75,298 injuries.

Israel initiated its offensive on Gaza on October 7 following actions by the Palestinian Hamas resistance group in response to Israeli provocations against Palestinians.

Additionally, the Tel Aviv regime has imposed a severe blockade on the territory, severely limiting access to fuel, electricity, food, and water for the more than two million Palestinians residing there.
