News - Middle East: French sources revealed that the French FREMM frigate Alsace has departed from the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, the French newspaper Le Figaro reported on Thursday.

The frigate's commander, Jerome Henry, acknowledged that the Yemeni Armed Forces "do not hesitate to use drones and ballistic missiles in a very surprising and striking manner."

"It has been a long time since we dealt with this level of weapons and violence," he pointed out.

The YAF "are perfecting their technique. The more they fire, the more accurate they become," Henry expressed.

Speaking to Le Figaro, the commander disclosed that "all combat equipment was used on board the frigate, from the Aster missile to machine guns," highlighting the significant cost of each Aster missile at $2 million.

It is noteworthy that Sanaa and the Yemeni Armed Forces have reiterated that navigation in the Red Sea will remain safe and secure for all ships, except for Israeli and Israeli-bound ships, as well as American and British ships following the two countries' repetitive aggression on Yemeni territory.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sanaa's government reiterated that the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red and the Arabian seas are closely linked to the events in the Gaza Strip, affirming that the operations will persist until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted.

Since the commencement of the Israeli regime's relentless military campaign against Gaza in early October, the Yemenis have openly declared their support for Palestine's struggle against the Israeli occupation. 

Israel initiated its genocidal war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group carried out Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The Tel Aviv regime has also imposed a "complete siege" on the territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

Since the start of the offensive, the Tel Aviv regime has killed over 33,545 Palestinians and injured more than 76,094 others.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have conducted recent attacks on ships with ties to Israel near Yemeni ports, including the interception and seizure of a vessel associated with the Tel Aviv regime on November 19.

The maritime attacks have forced some of the world’s biggest shipping and oil companies to suspend transit through one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

Tankers are instead adding thousands of miles to international shipping routes by sailing around the continent of Africa rather than going through the Suez Canal.
