European Operation in Red Sea Fails to Curb Yemeni Maritime Operations

News - Yemen: The commander of the European operation supporting the American alliance in the Red Sea has acknowledged the failure to curtail Yemeni maritime operations.

Commodore Vasilios Griparis, the commander of the European operation known as ASPIDES, stated, "Since the launch of Operation ASPIDES on February 19, 2024, the threat level has remained unchanged," according to the English-language website of Al Arabiya channel.

This statement represents a clear admission of failure in curtailing Yemeni operations targeting ships affiliated with the Zionist enemy, the United States, and Britain.

The withdrawal of the German frigate comes after France and Denmark announced the withdrawal of two frigates due to the danger of confronting Yemeni drones and fast, lethal missiles. Belgium also retracted the deployment of its frigate after failing a test to intercept a drone. This confirms that Yemeni attacks have exposed significant deficiencies in Western naval capabilities.

Previously, Britain replaced the warship Diamond with the ship Richmond after the former was subjected to several attacks by Yemeni drones, for replenishment purposes, and then returned. This revealed a significant weakness in the British Navy's ability to keep up with ongoing Yemeni operations and counter them. This applies to European frigates that have been withdrawn.

Many commanders and officers of British and American warships have made statements in the past period confirming their inability to counter Yemeni missiles and drones, affirming that Yemen's attacks are becoming more lethal, accurate, and frequent over time, acknowledging that what is happening represents the greatest naval challenge since World War II.

Last week, the US Navy Minister revealed that the United States had depleted ammunition worth a billion dollars in confronting Yemeni operations, which is a significant loss considering the ongoing success of Yemen in imposing a blockade on ships associated with the Zionist enemy, the United States, and Britain.

In light of these facts, the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, renewed his call last Thursday for European countries to withdraw their warships from the Red Sea, affirming that the congestion of warships in international waters affects navigation and that European ships can safely pass through the area as long as they do not head towards the Zionist entity.
