News – Yemen: Yemen's Supreme Political Council, led by President Mahdi Al-Mashat, has issued a stern warning to the United States that any move aimed at destabilizing the country would lead to massive chaos in the region, especially in key waterways surrounding Yemen.

The Council reiterated in a statement on Tuesday Yemen's steadfast support for Palestine against Zionist aggression on Gaza, backed by the United States and the West. 

It warned against any aggressive American actions that threaten Yemen's security and stability.

"The repercussions of any escalation will not be limited to Yemen's borders, nor will they affect the honorable Yemeni position, the resilience of the Yemeni people, and the bravery of the Armed Forces at all levels," the Council cautioned.

It stressed the need to maintain internal unity against American and British schemes.

The Council praised Yemeni military operations defending Palestine and highlighted the failure of the enemy to obstruct Yemen's efforts to block Zionist ships in strategic waters. It affirmed adherence to international and humanitarian law in all military measures.

President Al-Mashat updated the Council on political developments, urging Saudi Arabia to prioritize national interests over American interests in Yemen negotiations, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution. 

The Council commended Yemen's resilience in the face of economic blockade and reiterated the importance of humanitarian solutions, including salary payments for all Yemenis.

The Council's statement follows a report from Lebanon’s al-Akhbar newspaper, suggesting the US is planning a large-scale aerial assault on Yemen. The attacks are intended to support Yemeni factions opposed to Ansarullah and aligned with the UAE.

Yemen has been actively targeting Israeli and US interests in the region as part of a broader campaign against the brutal war on Gaza. Recent months have seen Yemeni forces seizing or launching drone and missile attacks on ships linked to Israel, the US, or the UK in regional waters.

Since October, when Israel initiated its Gaza offensive, Yemen has also targeted ports controlled by Israel. Yemen maintains that attacks on shipping will persist until Israel ceases its aggression on Gaza.
