In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Parliament warned of the dire consequences of Zionist threats to invade Rafah, which could result in a catastrophic event endangering the lives of over 1.2 million Palestinians.
The Parliament denounced the ongoing attacks and systematic targeting of Palestinian interests since October 7, 2023.
It urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and take immediate action to halt the massacres and genocide being perpetrated against the Palestinian people.
The statement emphasized that the invasion of Rafah and the targeting of civilians would lead to an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, as corroborated by reports from international humanitarian organizations.
The Parliament reiterated Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinians' right to self-determination, peaceful existence on their land, and the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
The Parliament called upon parliaments, regional and international parliamentary unions, the international community, free people worldwide, countries, and regional and international organizations to promptly adopt a firm and clear stance. This stance should aim to de-escalate the current military tensions and deter the occupation entity from committing further crimes against the Palestinian people.
The Parliament also urged the immediate establishment of an independent international investigation committee to probe the grave attacks and violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in Gaza. It demanded accountability for those responsible for these atrocious crimes and effective measures to halt the military invasion of Rafah and prevent further genocide against the Palestinian people.
Israel began its brutal onslaught on October 7.
Israel, which currently faces genocidal crimes at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), has killed about 34,500 Palestinians since last October when it waged a bloody war on the Gaza Strip.
Over 78,000 other Palestinians have also been injured, and around 8,400 may be trapped under rubble.
Reports say Rafah invasion would further displace more than 1 million Palestinians, cut off aid from the region, and block sick and wounded Palestinians from getting treatment outside the besieged territory.
The incursion came after Hamas said it had agreed to a ceasefire proposal put forward by mediators Qatar and Egypt. But the regime says the proposed deal falls short of its demands. Israel says it will soon send a delegation to Egypt to discuss the proposal with mediators.
