May 12, 2015: 309 Civilians Killed or Injured in US-Saudi Bombing of Hodeidah, Hajjah Over 9 Years

Yemen: The annals of the US-Saudi aggression on May 12 over nine years are rife with atrocious crimes against civilians across various Yemeni provinces. Were it not for the documentation of these atrocities through audio and visual evidence, they would have been buried in silence and oblivion.

During this period, the aggression's crimes were manifold, targeting civilians, prisoners, as well as the homes and farms of ordinary citizens.

Highlighted below are some of the most egregious crimes committed on this day:

The historic city of Zabid bore the brunt of the US-Saudi aggression on this day, as their aircraft unleashed death bombs and missiles upon the city.

With the descent of these missiles, history was interwoven with the scent and hue of blood, and fragments of bodies strewn across, painting a ghastly tableau of innocent lives shattered by the aggression's planes.

Amidst the longing of families to return home, the aggression's aircraft mercilessly targeted the bustling market of Sha'jaa in Zabid district of Hodeidah province with four consecutive airstrikes. The result was the martyrdom of 116 individuals and the injury of 94 others, including women and children.

The scenes depicted the obliteration of the market, commercial establishments, and eateries, alongside the destruction of several adjacent residences and historic mosques, inflicting significant material and moral losses upon the populace.

In sorrowful tones, survivors recounted how the aggression's aircraft targeted the densely populated market, teeming with over 500 citizens during peak hours. The airstrikes were relentless, with four strikes occurring in quick succession.

The heart-wrenching scenes captured a father's desperate plea as he cried out, "My son is trapped inside the restaurant," beneath the rubble. "He was the sole breadwinner for us." Tears streamed down the faces of the bereaved as they mourned the loss of their loved ones – the providers who fell victim to the aggression's onslaught in Sha'jaa market, where they toiled to make ends meet.

The US-Saudi aggression's appetite for destruction did not end with Zabid; it extended to the historic Al-Qahira Castle in Taiz province.

On May 12, 2015, the aggression's aircraft bombarded the historic Al-Qahira Castle in Taiz with several airstrikes, claiming the lives of 3 citizens and injuring 7 others.

Eyewitnesses attested to the relentless bombardment of Al-Qahira Castle, resulting in casualties and extensive damage to the historic landmark. This underscores the aggression's deliberate targeting of Yemen's heritage and its disdain for anything bearing the nation's history.

In a poignant remark, a resident lamented, "The assault on the historic Al-Qahira Castle epitomized barbarism and senselessness in the absence of organizations advocating for heritage preservation, underscoring the American and Saudi animosity towards the Yemeni people and their rich civilization.

May 12, 2015: 76 Killed or Injured in Abs Prison Bombing, Hajjah

On May 12, 2015, Abs district in Hajjah province, one of the regions ravaged by the US-Saudi aggression, witnessed a brutal massacre at the central prison, emblematic of the aggression's crimes against civilians.

In this district, where over 76 individuals lost their lives or sustained injuries, the aggression's aircraft targeted the central prison with several airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of 51 individuals and the injury of 25 others. This massacre remains etched in the memory of Abs' residents, haunted by the terror of the airstrikes that left an indelible mark.

The scenes depicted the aggression's brutality as it targeted isolated prisoners and adjacent civilian residences, shedding the blood of innocents without remorse.

May 12, 2015: Continuous Targeting of Sa'adah

Just as Sa'adah was a strategic target for the US-Saudi aggression in 2015, it was also targeted by this enemy on May 12 of the same year. The aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression targeted the Education Office, the Sports Hall, and other buildings with several airstrikes.

The scenes showed complete destruction of the buildings, resulting in significant damage. This comes as part of the deliberate targeting of Yemen's infrastructure.

On the same day in 2015, the aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression targeted houses and farms of citizens in the Al-Zamah area of Baqem district in Sa'adah province with more than 12 airstrikes.

The scenes depicted the complete destruction of dozens of citizens' houses, the burning of their cars, significant damage to farms and properties, as well as the targeting of mosques.

One eyewitness said: "The aggression targeted us with prohibited cluster bombs that explode in the sky and on the ground, creating large fires that rise into the sky. Additionally, there were bombs among the farms that did not explode, causing damage to farmers, destruction of oil derivative stations, two cars, and killing cows and livestock."

The aggression did not cease its targeting, as Sa'adah province remained among its deliberate targets. On May 12, 2018, the aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression targeted citizens' farms and the main road in the Maran area of Sa'adah province with several airstrikes.

The scenes showed large craters on the main road and, destruction of farms, and adjacent houses.

One affected individual said: "The aggression targets the roads daily, attempting to block the road linking the Maran and Hidan areas. However, all its attempts fail in the face of our will and determination. Its planes and aggression will not intimidate us."

On this day in 2018, several civilians were wounded following the targeting by the artillery of the US-Saudi aggression of the border district of Razih in Sa'adah province.

May 12, 2018: 13 Killed or Injured in Bombing on Al-Jarahi District in Hodeidah

On this day, the aircraft of the US-Saudi aggression targeted citizens' farms in the Shu'ab Al-Dali area of Al-Jarahi district in Hodeidah province with two airstrikes, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 citizens and the injury of 9 others.

Locals reported that the aggression targeted laborers who had left their homes to seek a livelihood for their children, working as daily wage earners among the mango farms to provide for their daily sustenance. Among them were 3 citizens whose bodies were not recovered.

The scenes depicted the destruction of mango trees in the farms, with the martyrs' remains scattered among the trees, as well as the targeting of water projects by the aggression's aircraft.
