News - Yemen: Aden Governor Tareq Salam affirmed on Tuesday that Yemeni unity is the safety valve for Yemenis to navigate towards freedom and independence.

He explained that efforts by American and British occupation forces and their proxies to impose secession and division among the people will not succeed against the awareness and wisdom of the Yemeni people.

Salam highlighted that the celebrations of this occasion come amidst significant changes at the local, regional, and international levels, requiring concerted efforts to reunite and strengthen bonds of brotherhood and tolerance.

He pointed out that the suffering experienced by Yemenis in the occupied southern and eastern provinces results from the criminal practices of the occupiers aimed at subjugating Yemenis.

The national day of Yemen is known as Unity Day. It commemorates the unification of North Yemen and South Yemen that took place on May 22, 1990.

Calls for secession are growing louder, particularly in Aden and other major southern cities that are now controlled by the Emirati-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).

As part of attempts to control Hadramout governorate and include it in the secession project, Saudi Arabia and the UAE attempt to drag the tribes in this governorate into the ranks of the separatist scheme through negotiation with the Hadramout tribes.

Governor Salam emphasized the importance of unity behind the revolutionary and political leadership to save the country from the mischief of the occupiers who seek to plunge Yemen into chaos.

He stated that the challenges facing Yemen are part of a series of external conspiracies, starting with the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression, the occupation of southern provinces, and culminating in attempts to divide the nation.

Salam stressed the necessity of mobilizing energies, boosting morale, and raising readiness to confront dangers aiming to undermine Yemen's unity and stability.
