President Mashat Calls for Peace and Cooperation, Urges Fulfillment of Commitments by US-Saudi Aggression Leadership

News - Yemen: Yemen's President Mahdi Al-Mashat emphasized that Yemeni unity is deeply rooted in the Yemeni people's faith and values, stressing that political differences, no matter how intense, should not erode Yemen's unified identity.

He called for revitalizing the authentic essence of unity, which encompasses brotherhood, love, tolerance, coexistence, cooperation, and integration among the Yemeni people. He underscored the importance of not attributing past mistakes and unjust practices to the concept of unity.

Yemen Unification Day commemorates the historic merger of North Yemen and South Yemen on May 22, 1990. This significant occasion is celebrated with various events and activities that emphasize national unity and solidarity.

Mashat announced the postponement of the official celebration of the national holiday until next Sunday, in solidarity with the Iranian people following the tragic loss of the President and his companions.

He explained that the decision to postpone the celebration is guided by Yemen's obligation to a Muslim nation cherished by the Yemeni people, empathizing with the concerns and suffering of the Muslim community, including its Mujahideen in Palestine.

Raeisi was martyred alongside his accompanying delegation, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian after their helicopter crashed in the Dizmar forest in East Azarbaijan Province.

Otherwise in his speech, the President reiterated his genuine desire for peace, good neighborliness, and the restoration of brotherly relations with Yemen's neighbors and internal factions. He urged the leadership of the US-Saudi aggression to fulfill their commitments with Sana'a and actively participate in signing and implementing the agreed roadmap.

Mashat urged the aggression leadership to promptly establish a conducive environment to foster trust in both humanitarian and economic aspects and to advance on the path of peace, aiming to entirely resolve crises and conflicts and collaboratively ensure the safety, stability, and prosperity of the entire region.

He also called on the US and UK to immediately halt their aggression against Gaza and Yemen, emphasizing that aggression against these regions poses a threat to international peace and security and undermines their own interests.

President Mashat cautioned against the destructive efforts of America, Israel, and Britain, targeting the peoples and nations of our region. He appealed to the international community and the UN to nullify decisions and designations obstructing peace in Yemen and to actively support and promote Sana'a's constructive intentions and initiatives.

The US has formed a military coalition in early January against Yemeni forces in the Red Sea.

The US and Britain have been carrying out strikes against Yemen to force the country to stop its strikes on Israel-linked ships. That has caused Yemenis to expand their maritime strikes to target ships owned by the two countries.
