Abdulsalam Warns of US Plot to Drag Saudi Arabia Into Economic War Against Yemen

News – Yemen: Mohammed Abdulsalam, the head of the National Delegation, has warned of a dangerous step orchestrated by the United States to ignite a war against Yemeni banks operating in the capital, Sana'a.

"This step aims to implicate other countries, including Saudi Arabia, in a war intended to starve the Yemeni people," Abdulsalam said in a post on Thursday. "The US is seeking to drag Saudi Arabia into this conflict to serve the interests of the Israeli entity and to punish the Yemeni people for their supportive stance on the Palestinian cause."

He stressed that this step will have dire consequences for the entire region.

Abdulsalam called on Saudi Arabia not to fall into this "American trap" and to prioritize the interests of the Yemeni people above all else.

Abdulsalam also affirmed the warning of Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi to Saudi Arabia against getting involved in this war.

In early April, the Saudi-backed government ordered commercial banks, Islamic banks, and microfinance banks to relocate their headquarters from Sana'a to Aden within 60 days. The Central Bank in Aden warned that banks failing to comply would face legal actions under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Law.

Economists believe this decision is a punitive response to the Central Bank in Sana'a issuing a new 100 riyal coin to replace damaged paper currency. They argue the Saudi-led coalition has long aimed to force the Sana'a government to either accept the new illegal currency, causing inflation and burdening citizens, or face a cash shortage.

The coalition expected the old currency in Sana'a to run out, compelling acceptance of the new currency and causing a nationwide collapse of the Yemeni riyal. However, the new coin issued by the Central Bank in Sana'a has maintained currency stability and reduced inflation risks.

The United States is seen as driving the decision to pressure Sana'a regarding Gaza, with the Saudi-backed government using it to avoid peace obligations and disrupt the roadmap.

In his speech on Thursday, the Leader of the Revolution warned of an American plot to drag Saudi Arabia into economic aggression against Yemen by putting pressure on the banks in Sana'a.

Sayyed Abdulmalik said that the United States is seeking to trap Saudi Arabia in the service of the Israeli enemy by putting pressure on the banks in Sana'a. He added that targeting the banks in Sana'a is an act of economic aggression, and if Saudi Arabia gets involved in this for Israel's sake, it will fall into a major problem.

The leader called on Saudi Arabia to beware of falling into this American trap, stressing that it is a mistake for anyone to sacrifice their security and peace for the sake of the Israeli enemy.

He emphasized that any hostile steps against Yemen will not deter the Yemeni people from their position in support of the Palestinian cause, even if some Arab regimes go to fight in service of the Israeli enemy. The leader reiterated that the Yemeni people will remain steadfast in their faith-based struggle to support the Palestinian people, and no one will turn them away from this position.
