News - Yemen: Yemeni President Mahdi Al-Mashat congratulated the security services and the Yemeni people on the unprecedented strategic achievement of arresting the American-Israeli espionage cells, the most dangerous and largest in Yemeni history.

President Al-Mashat praised the cooperation, vigilance, and awareness of the Yemeni people, who continue to be a formidable barrier against the conspiracy and subversive projects of the enemies.

He affirmed that the security achievement reveals the extreme hostility harbored by the United States towards peoples and countries, especially in the Arab and Islamic regions, and its constant readiness to spread sabotage and chaos to impose its hegemony on the world. However, in Yemen, it has collided with the will of the September 21st Revolution, which champions freedom, independence, and the prevention of foreign interference.            

The President explained that a significant factor contributing to this success is the reliance on a Quranic vision in understanding the conflict with the enemies of the nation, particularly the Americans and Israelis, and in devising ways to confront them.

On Monday, Yemeni Security Forces announced the dismantling of a significant espionage network working for the United States and Israel, involved in espionage and sabotage activities across various state institutions for decades.

According to a statement from the Security Forces, the network was directly linked to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and had obtained highly sensitive information about various aspects of life in Yemen, including military, security, economic, agricultural, health, and educational fields.

The statement indicated that members of the network had exploited their roles at the US Embassy in Sana'a to carry out their subversive activities. They continued their agendas even after the embassy's departure from the country in 2014, operating under the guise of international and UN organizations.

“The exposed network collected important information in various fields and carried out direct espionage technical operations on behalf of the enemy’s intelligence services to obtain confidential, sovereign information,” said Major General Abdul Hakim Hashem Al-Khaiwani, head of Yemen’s Security and Intelligence Service, in a televised statement.

Al-Khaiwani added that the US-Israeli-led espionage network had recruited officials within the Yemeni government to influence decision-makers and infiltrate state agencies.

Spies also carried out operations to spread diseases in Yemen to target its health system, he said, adding that the network had promoted “moral corruption” to undermine the education system in the country.

The network had provided intelligence to the US and Israeli militaries to help them hit Yemeni infrastructure used to target Israeli and US-linked ships in regional waters.
