American and Israeli Spies' Confessions Expose U.S. Role in Yemen's Economic War

Yemen: The recent confessions of American and Israeli intelligence spies, published by security agencies on Saturday evening, reveal various hostile aspects of American actions, confirming Washington's direct involvement in the economic war against Yemen and its people.

This comes after the failure of military and security options, making it clear that U.S. movements under any pretext are destructive, targeting countries and peoples under diplomatic and humanitarian covers.

The economic war on Yemen, throughout the years of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression and blockade, has caused significant suffering among the Yemeni people. This suffering was orchestrated by the U.S. through its direct supervision and execution of measures such as relocating the central bank, destroying the currency, and targeting revenue institutions.

The confessions of American and Israeli spies revealed aspects of direct American actions in waging economic warfare against the Yemeni people, starting with relocating the central bank to implementing a comprehensive blockade.

Relocating Central Bank Functions: A Purely American Move

The United States orchestrated the relocation of the Central Bank of Yemen's functions through direct actions by its spies.

Spy Shaif Al-Hamdani confessed, "In 2016, I was tasked by Mr. Brad Hansen, the then-Deputy Ambassador and CIA official, to receive the central bank's code from Mr. Ibrahim Al-Nahari and transfer it to Aden."

Al-Hamdani continued, "I received the code, transferred it to Aden, and handed it over to someone in the International Monetary Section of the Central Bank in Aden named Ali Hamdani at the Coral Hotel. I stayed in Aden for three days and then returned to Sana'a." These confessions confirm that the U.S. was behind the relocation of the Central Bank from Sana'a to Aden, leading to immense suffering for the Yemeni people due to salary cuts, resource plundering, and transfer restrictions.

Spy Jamil Al-Faqih also confessed that "the American side was very interested in the impact and reasons behind relocating the Central Bank and its results on exchange rates." He indicated that Washington and its officers were constantly inquiring about "the tools and measures used by the Central Bank in Sana'a and Aden to control the exchange market, the differences in exchange rates between Sana'a and Aden, and how they addressed this deterioration." This reflects the American insistence on succeeding in the conspiracy behind relocating the Bank's functions.

The American Machine of Destruction Targets the Currency

In addition to direct American targeting of the national economy, Washington's clear and evident role in destroying the national currency through various dubious actions and hostile measures has also been revealed.

Spy Shaif Al-Hamdani stated, "One of the destructive goals pursued by the USAID was to destroy the Yemeni economy by distributing the illegally printed currency in the northern governorates." He noted that Mr. Mike Martin, responsible for the economic growth file, suggested flooding the northern governorates with this currency to cover the liquidity shortage, which would severely damage the exchange rate, exacerbating the citizens' economic suffering and leading to higher prices for food and consumer goods.

Al-Hamdani added, "Mr. Mike Martin suggested in multiple meetings, including one with Navanti, discussing how to implement this plan to increase Yemenis' suffering by destroying their economy further."

These confessions highlight the American agenda to intensify economic deterioration in Yemen, demonstrating their persistent efforts to create and amplify economic hardship through currency manipulation and other destructive strategies.

As for the spy Jamil Al-Faqih, he highlights other aspects of American actions aimed at destroying the national currency. He asserts that "the American side was concerned with the presence of hard currency in the country and whether banks had the ability to transfer or smuggle it abroad. This made it difficult to replace the currency, causing it to remain within the country. This was one of the factors the Americans investigated, as the presence of hard currency in various regions, whether in the north or south, played a role in the stability or deterioration of the exchange rate."

Al-Faqih continues his confession by stating, "I mentioned that financial services are still in their early stages and that they could be an alternative to the circulation of cash, especially the worn-out physical currency. Government entities and banks are now competing to issue financial cash services. I sent this study to Officer Darren to inform him of the more detailed information."

He further explains the intensity of American efforts, saying, "I was also asked to conduct research and gather this information, which I then sent, including details about the electronic Riyal service established by CAC Bank. This service allows consumers to pay salaries, electricity, and water bills, or make internal financial transfers, which also helps stabilize the exchange rate and preserve the national currency."

Regarding American dissatisfaction with Sana'a's countermeasures to stabilize prices and protect the economy, Al-Faqih states, "The American side doesn't like this because any measures that benefit the economy are counter to their goal of targeting the economy. Thus, whenever there are positive measures, they take more actions to counter them."

America Aims to Destroy Revenue Sources:

The American machine of destruction waging the economic war on Yemen has not stopped at any point. Washington has been intensifying its hostile measures to escalate the economic war against the Yemeni people, targeting revenue-generating institutions that bolster the state treasury with whatever revenue remains amidst the seizure of oil and gas resources, which previously constituted 80-85% of the state budget.

In this context, Al-Faqih reveals, "Many sources were recruited in the Ministry of Finance, Taxes, and Customs to provide the American side with information about the Ministry of Finance, its activities, the state's general budget, and the challenges of preparing the budget."

Al-Faqih continues, "Officer Darren tasked me with gathering information about the revenue of the Sana'a government and the state's general budget and how it is prepared. I provided him with data on how the Sana'a government funds its resources, how the general budget is prepared in the Ministry of Finance, and its crucial role in understanding the state's revenues, its directions, and its projects. This allows them to build plans to target the economy further and the vital entities involved in economic growth, thus serving their goal of economic deterioration and increasing burdens on the national side and the state."

Among the revenue institutions targeted by Washington was the Public Telecommunications Corporation. Al-Faqih confirms that "the American side focused on telecommunications because they have a network of sources in telecom companies like MTN, the Public Telecommunications Corporation, and Yemen Mobile."

He continues his confession, "Officer Darren asked me about the number of active and inactive subscribers in telecommunications, the types of systems used (CDMA or GSM), and the various services provided by the companies, such as messaging services or internet services. He also inquired about the future plans of the companies and whether the market could accommodate another new company."

Al-Faqih elaborates, "I provided information on the packages and their prices. The American side is very interested in telecommunications, gathering data on coverage areas for telecom companies. All this benefits the American side in understanding economic metrics and targeting the country's security and internal policy." Through these confessions, the direct targeting of the Yemeni telecommunications sector during the years of aggression, siege, and economic war is evident, whether through direct bombing or the banning of equipment entry.

The American machine of destruction did not emerge just during the economic war and aggression but has been engaged in comprehensive hostile activities against the national economy for decades, which will be detailed in an upcoming report by Almasirah newspaper. It will become clear that all the suffering endured by the Yemeni people has been caused by America, from the beginning to the end.
