News - Yemen: Yemeni President Mahdi Al-Mashat emphasized on Saturday the importance of using the occasion of the new Hijri year to strengthen the unity of the Islamic Nation in facing its enemies and working towards the liberation of Palestine from unjust Zionist occupation.

In congratulatory messages sent to leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the new Hijri year, President Al-Mashat also called for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the entire Palestinian territory with Al-Quds as its capital. 

He prayed to Almighty Allah that this great occasion returns while the Arab and Islamic nations have achieved all their aspirations for progress and prosperity.

For his part, Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, in congratulatory messages sent to his counterparts—the speakers of parliaments in Arab and Islamic countries not participating in the aggression against Yemen—urged them to overcome the barrier of silence and inaction. 

He called for urgent action to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and to put an end to the crimes and massacres committed against them by Zionist war criminals, which occur in full view of the world and the international community.

He implored Allah to bring this occasion back to the people of the Arab and Islamic nations with victory over the enemies of the nation and with more development and prosperity achieved.

The new Hijri year comes while Israel is unleashing a war on the besieged Gaza Strip since early October 2023.

At least 38,011 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have also been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past eight months during the regime’s genocidal war.
