The deadly attack hit the gate of al-Awda school in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of the city of Khan Yunis. Eyewitnesses described the number of victims as “unimaginable.”
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said in a Wednesday statement that at least 32 people lost their lives and more than 50 others wounded.
The victims — a large number of whom children and women — were ”turned into body parts,” the group said.
“The missiles,” it said, “were launched towards a group of residents and displaced persons who have been worn down by repeated forced displacement.”
Euro-Med Monitor said the group has tracked US-made bombs at the site of the attack, after an examination of the remnants of the weapons.
The bomb, which the group has not identified, has repeatedly been used by the regime’s forces in several massacres in Gaza, according to the statement.
