In a statement, the ministry noted that the UN discourse turns a blind eye to all forms of ongoing escalation by the aggression countries, particularly the arbitrary measures in the economic and humanitarian sectors affecting the Yemeni people.
The ministry criticized the UN's position as biased, negative, and compromising with these measures and policies, effectively participating in punishing Yemenis and deepening their humanitarian suffering.
Since the first day of aggression against Yemen, the UN has remained largely silent on US-Saudi war crimes and violations, issuing only tepid statements from the UN envoy.
The UN has been criticized for exploiting the war by collecting donations in the name of aiding the Yemeni people, often releasing reports on malnutrition and the humanitarian crisis to solicit funds. However, the organization has failed to address the effects of the war imposed on Yemen over the past eight years, misleading the international community by describing it as a "civil conflict" instead of acknowledging the international coalition's role.
Observers argue that humanitarian aid from donor countries is not a solution and that stopping the war is essential. They note that financial aid has not improved conditions over the years, with reports indicating that the UN spends nearly 70% of donations on its operating expenses, and accusations of corruption and money laundering within the pro-aggression government.
Economic Blockade and the Closure of Sana'a Airport are War Crimes
The ministry affirmed that the illegal measures regarding the Central Bank of Yemen in Sana'a and the continuation of the unjust blockade on Sana'a airport constitute a war crime under international laws and treaties affecting more than 25 million civilians.
It stressed that the return of looted economic entitlements from Yemeni resources, the continuation of economic activity, the resumption of flights to all destinations, and the opening of the port of Hodeidah are rights guaranteed to Yemenis by international laws and conventions.
The Ministry of Human Rights held the US-Saudi aggression fully responsible for the catastrophic humanitarian and economic consequences resulting from these economic restrictions, as well as all war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the unjust blockade over the past nine years.
The ministry reiterated Yemen's position rejecting the conflation of humanitarian and economic security, sovereignty, and political issues.
It also affirmed Yemen's commitment to all rights resulting from the crime of aggression and blockade and the legal pursuit of all parties involved in aggression, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed in Yemen. The ministry emphasized the necessity of holding them judicially accountable and preventing them from escaping punishment.
The ministry endorsed the measures that the Revolutionary Leadership will take to support those affected by these violations, to ensure the return of humanitarian and economic entitlements to all Yemenis, as guaranteed by divine and positive legislation.
During his speech marking the new Hijri year on Sunday, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the Leader of the Yemeni Revolution, issued a stern warning to the Saudi regime. He cautioned against the continued "insane" actions aimed at economically harming and starving the Yemeni people. Emphasizing a reciprocal response, Sayyed Abdulmalik stated that Yemen will respond to every Saudi move in kind, threatening actions such as targeting Riyadh airport if Sana'a airport is disrupted.
He accused the US of manipulating Saudi Arabia to escalate aggression after its military failures in Yemen, focusing on economic strategies to inflict widespread harm. Sayyed Abdulmalik criticized the recent Saudi decision to transfer banks from Sana'a, calling it an "insane and foolish step" intended to serve US and Israeli interests. He warned that such moves severely impact Yemen's economy, living conditions, and currency stability.
The Saudi regime has persisted, further threatening to disrupt Sana'a airport and close ports, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Sayyed Abdulmalik highlighted that these actions are driven by external incitement, aiming to rekindle a comprehensive war. He underscored that Yemen will not remain passive in the face of Saudi aggression and is prepared to confront these challenges, even while supporting Gaza.
He concluded by urging the Saudi regime to abandon its aggressive course, asserting that Yemen will not tolerate attempts to starve or economically cripple its people.
