Sana'a Government Issues Strong Response to UN Envoy's Message on US-Saudi Economic Escalation

News – Yemen: The letter from the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, addressed to the coalition’s “Command Council” regarding the US-Saudi escalation against the Yemeni economy has received its first official response from the Sana’a government.

Government spokesman, Minister of Information Dhifallah al-Shami, stated in a post on his X account on Friday evening, “We will not be deceived, neither by the yellow nor blond ones nor by their agents,” adding that the ceiling of freedom, pride, and living in dignity has no limits.

Al-Shami pointed out, “We have no consideration for postponing or interpreting. Our leader’s sword has been drawn from its sheath, and he will not return except with what pleases Allah and satisfies these proud, courageous masses, and triumphs over the oppression of Gaza and its people.”

The Saudi-Emirati Tools Council announced on Friday that it had received an invitation from the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to launch a "dialogue with the Houthis regarding the developments in the economic crisis" in Yemen.

The head of the Tools Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, said that Grundberg's message included "a request for support from the head and members of the council to initiate a dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations to discuss the recent economic developments and ways to resolve them in the best interest of the Yemeni people."

This comes amid the ongoing economic war waged by the US-Saudi aggression and its mercenaries on Yemen, the latest being the Central Bank in Aden, which is under the control of the aggression's mercenaries, revoking the licenses of six major commercial banks in the liberated areas for not relocating their headquarters to Aden.

In his speech on Thursday, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi issued a stern warning to the Saudi regime about the economic escalation against the Yemeni people under American orders. He emphasized that the warning, given at the beginning of the new Hijri year, is serious and highlighted that the regime is worsening the situation. He condemned the prohibition of flights from Sana’a airport and the targeting of banks, airports, and the port as unacceptable red lines.

Sayyed Abdulmalik asserted that no American agent could deter the Yemeni people, who show their resilience through weekly mass demonstrations. He noted that the positions of the Saudi regime and some Gulf countries align with Israeli, American, and British logic. The harassment of local banks and companies by Saudi Arabia is seen as unjust and aggressive.

The leader stressed that measures to counter Saudi aggression, particularly in the economic field, are part of the broader battle to support Gaza. He clarified that no actions would divert Yemen from supporting the Palestinian people. He warned the Saudi regime to abandon its unjustified and unacceptable path, dismissing their claims of being pressured by the Americans.
