This plan, tied to high hopes and ambitious promises, was supposed to be the updated version of the "Tnufa" plan, which the brigades and units trained for, extending to the political and security staff (the cabinet), from Netanyahu to the last minister in his smaller government.
The revised Zionist transitional plan, named "The Punch," an updated version of the "Tnufa" plan:
In February 2020, former Chief of General Staff "Aviv Kochavi" of the Zionist army published the "Tnufa" plan, meaning "thrust or momentum." It aimed to rebuild the Zionist army's units and create new ones, with a primary objective of improving detection of enemy forces and enhancing the destruction capacity of the army’s multiple arms. Part of the plan was to establish a brigade dedicated solely to the threat from Lebanon.
According to media reports, the updated transitional plan includes deploying commandos and special forces, supported by air forces, with two main goals: "destroying resistance forces in southern Lebanon—specifically Hezbollah’s Radwan unit—and limiting Hezbollah’s military infrastructure."
However, Hebrew reports have admitted that the plan has so far failed to achieve any of the grand promises upon which it was built. This updated "Punch" plan, aimed at simulating an invasion of all of Lebanon through commando units under "Victoria," carries Halevi's stamp, with General "Mike Kurilla," commander of U.S. Central Command, playing a role.
According to special translations, the "Punch" plan is an alternative or evolved version of the four-part "Tnufa" plan, based on the doctrine of rapid lethality. It involves the use of special forces and commandos to execute deep penetrations into Lebanon after quickly capturing key hills, with precise firepower and accompanying air and artillery strikes to secure these deep advances, relying on varied combat methods and tactics.
The enemy's efforts and plans are being thwarted by the resistance’s resilience:
Field data from the first moments of the ground war on the border, beginning with the ambush and first clash that the "Egoz" unit faced in "Adaisseh," has made it clear to Zionist generals that two years of strenuous training drills have gone to waste. They had expected the resistance to crumble after strong initial firepower but were met with unexpected strength.
Failures and miscalculations continued in "Yaroun," where Hezbollah fighters used varied combat methods: movement, indirect fire from concealed positions, and indirect engagement through specialized explosive devices that hit the first infiltrating battalions of the "Golani Brigade’s 12th Battalion."
At the "Maroun al-Ras" battlefront, Hezbollah fighters began their defense by striking three "Merkava" tanks, disabling them in the first moments of an attempted joint attack by the "Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion" and the "188th Armored Brigade’s 53rd Battalion."
In "Kafr Kila," located entirely on the border, which has been struck daily by the enemy's artillery and air forces since October 8 of last year, this small village managed to force the enemy to fight on its chosen grounds. A joint commando force from the "89th Brigade" and the "35th Paratrooper Brigade" failed to advance, as the resistance controlled the points of engagement, aided by some members of Hezbollah’s Radwan unit.
A similar scenario unfolded on the western fronts, from "Aytaroun" to "Yarin," where flexible defense tactics and precise intelligence forced the enemy to retreat, especially during an assault on "Ramia" and "Aita al-Shaab." Here, the enemy aimed to seize the sensitive "Al-Qawzha" ridge, which would give them control of key vantage points, but they were repelled.
The Lebanese-Palestinian border has witnessed the most serious military escalation in years, during which the Islamic resistance launched a series of concentrated attacks on Israeli military and strategic targets, in response to previous Zionist aggressions.
Operational data from the last 72 hours documents an intense series of attacks by the Islamic resistance on Israeli military and civilian targets, marking a significant escalation in the frequency and scope of these operations, accompanied by clear political and military messages.
On Saturday, October 12, there was a marked increase in rocket attacks, targeting deeper sites inside occupied Palestinian territories. Notable among these was the strike on "Tirat Carmel," an important training base and explosives factory, causing significant material and military damage to the enemy. Additionally, the focus shifted to repeated attacks on sites in and around "Haifa," turning it into a primary target for the resistance.
The following days saw further escalations. On October 13, the resistance launched 40 operations, including a drone attack on a "Golani Brigade" camp in "Binyamina," resulting in 70 Israeli soldiers either killed or wounded. On October 14, the resistance continued with 32 more operations, including an attack on the "Stella Maris" naval base in northwest Haifa, and a strike on "Beit Lid" barracks east of Netanya.
This intensified series of operations demonstrates the resistance's intent to shift the battle into the Israeli heartland, inflicting significant damage on its military and economic infrastructure. Moreover, the resistance’s tactics in thwarting Israeli infiltration attempts along the Lebanese border, through ambushes, direct confrontations, and targeted bombardments, have been highly effective, further undermining Israel’s plans for surprise ground operations.
In its statements, the resistance has reiterated that these attacks are just a fraction of its capabilities and warned that it will not hesitate to unleash more power if Israel’s aggressions do not cease. These messages reflect the resistance's determination to deter the enemy and force it to pay the price for its crimes.
Military experts note that the resistance's strikes on major military bases and sensitive sites, such as "Tirat Carmel" and a defense base in "Kiryat Eliezer," aim to cause maximum losses and disable Israeli military capabilities. The resistance's response, even after the assassination of its leaders, indicates a strong resolve and an unprecedented increase in offensive operations.
Observers highlight that the resistance’s operations signal a firm intention to deter and retaliate, emphasizing in their statements that these attacks are a response to Israel's brutal incursions and massacres of civilians. This shows the resistance’s unyielding resolve to continue fighting, regardless of the sacrifices, and its ability to fight on, no matter how severe the Israeli aggression becomes.
The resistance also sends a clear message of deterrence to Netanyahu's government, warning against continued aggressions on Lebanon. It stresses that it will remain the "shield" of the Lebanese people and continue defending Lebanon according to battlefield strategies personally overseen by martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Media outlets linked to the resistance broadcasted a speech by the Secretary-General, which boosted the morale of the Lebanese people and the resistance fighters, reassuring them that the resistance remains strong and is capable of protecting both land and people. The coming days are expected to be decisive in determining the course of events, particularly as the Zionist reaction to these painful blows is awaited.
