Yemen Rejects UN Delay Tactics Amid Economic Escalation, Refuses Portraying External Aggression as an Internal Matter

News - Yemen: Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein Al-Ezzi, revealed that Sana'a informed the United Nations of its refusal to treat the economic escalation as an internal matter and rejected the use of postponement and procrastination in addressing the issue.

This came in response to a message sent by the UN envoy to the Saudi-backed government, requesting a postponement of the implementation of escalation decisions regarding the transfer of banks.

"We have informed the Secretary-General's envoy of our firm rejection of attempts to whitewash the American external role and portray external aggression as an internal matter," Al-Ezzi stated on his X account.

"We also affirmed that using the language of postponement and procrastination regarding matters concerning the rights of our Yemeni people is unacceptable. There will be no negotiations except within the framework of discussing the agreed roadmap for implementation," he added.

UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, sent a message to the Saudi-backed government on Friday, requesting a postponement of implementing economic escalation decisions related to transferring banks from Sana'a to avoid the retaliation of Sayyed Abdulmalik against Saudi Arabia.

In his message, the UN envoy deliberately kept Saudi Arabia and America out of the picture, in a blatant attempt to portray the escalation as a local crisis. This reveals a clear determination by the US and Saudi Arabia to continue the escalation and attempt to evade its consequences.

During his speech marking the new Hijri year on Sunday, Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the Leader of the Yemeni Revolution, issued a stern warning to the Saudi regime. He cautioned against the continued "insane" actions aimed at economically harming and starving the Yemeni people. Emphasizing a reciprocal response, Sayyed Abdulmalik stated that Yemen will respond to every Saudi move in kind, threatening actions such as targeting Riyadh airport if Sana'a airport is disrupted.

He accused the US of manipulating Saudi Arabia to escalate aggression after its military failures in Yemen, focusing on economic strategies to inflict widespread harm. Sayyed Abdulmalik criticized the recent Saudi decision to transfer banks from Sana'a, calling it an "insane and foolish step" intended to serve US and Israeli interests. He warned that such moves severely impact Yemen's economy, living conditions, and currency stability.

The Saudi regime has persisted, further threatening to disrupt Sana'a airport and close ports, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Sayyed Abdulmalik highlighted that these actions are driven by external incitement, aiming to rekindle a comprehensive war. He underscored that Yemen will not remain passive in the face of Saudi aggression and is prepared to confront these challenges, even while supporting Gaza.

He concluded by urging the Saudi regime to abandon its aggressive course, asserting that Yemen will not tolerate attempts to starve or economically cripple its people.
