July 14 Over 9 Years: 43 Casualties and Destruction of Infrastructure and Homes in Hajja, Sa'adah, and Sana'a

Yemen: On July 14, 2015, the US-Saudi aggression continued its strategy of destroying homes, businesses, public and private properties, and infrastructure in Yemen’s Hajja, Sa'adah, and Sana'a governorates with a series of destructive airstrikes.

These airstrikes resulted in 21 deaths, 22 injuries, significant damage to dozens of homes, the death of numerous livestock, displacement of families, and financial losses amounting to tens of millions for merchants and shop owners. The strikes also destroyed Al-Thawra Sports Stadium and numerous citizen vehicles, causing widespread fear, panic, displacement, and increased suffering for the populace over the past nine years.

Here are key details of the crimes committed on this day:

2015: 23 Casualties, Livestock Deaths in Hajja

On July 14, 2015, US-Saudi airstrikes targeted homes in the Al-Farsh area, Haradh District, Hajja. The strikes resulted in 11 deaths and 12 injuries, the death of numerous sheep, and caused widespread fear and panic among children and women. The attack led to the displacement of survivors and nearby villagers.

One resident shared: "The aggression killed two of my children, aged 7 and 9. The strike was direct. What crime did they commit? My 7-year-old used to wake me for prayers. After the strike, I found his body parts scattered."

2015: 6 Family Members Killed in Sa'adah

On July 14, 2015, US-Saudi airstrikes targeted the home of Ali Sheba in Wadi Liyah, Al-Dhahir District, Sa'adah. The strike killed all six family members: Ali Sheba, his pregnant wife, and their four children. The attack destroyed their home, causing widespread fear and displacement among local residents.

These attacks are part of the thousands of war crimes committed against the Yemeni people over the past nine years.

Destruction of Dozens of Homes:

On July 14, 2015, US-Saudi airstrikes targeted homes in Al-Sha’f area, Saqin District, Sa'adah governorate, destroying dozens of homes whose residents had already been displaced by previous attacks. The strikes caused damage to neighboring properties and farms, leading to further displacement and hopelessness among the residents, effectively turning the area into a warzone devoid of civilians.

The previously adjoining homes were reduced to piles of rubble mixed with furniture, wood, personal belongings, children's toys, family photos, school books, and colorful pen boxes, all buried under the debris.

Homeowners return to their destroyed homes occasionally, some finding nothing left and others waiting their turn in the systematic destruction of life and its essentials, particularly in Saada and the border areas.

The eradication of entire families and the destruction of dozens of homes in Saada villages are part of the thousands of war crimes committed against the Yemeni people over nine years, amidst complete international silence and the continuous complicity of the UN and the Security Council.

2015: 14 Casualties in Attacks on Sports Facilities in Sana'a

On July 14, 2015, US-Saudi airstrikes targeted Al-Thawra Sports Stadium and nearby shops and citizen vehicles in Al-Thawra District, Sana'a, with several devastating strikes.

These strikes resulted in four deaths and 10 injuries, the destruction of stadium halls and stands for the second time in four days, and damage to nearby shops and citizen vehicles, causing widespread fear among local residents, substantial financial losses amounting to tens of millions, and further displacement and deprivation.

The bloodshed in the public streets, sports stadium, and hospital halls highlights the aggression’s aim to kill and subjugate the Yemeni people, trying to drag them towards submission.

Scenes of soda cans, chocolates, and various food products scattered on the street after the strikes reflect the severe impact on the local economy. The destroyed shops, shattered doors, and debris-filled streets indicate the use of highly destructive weaponry in targeting Al-Thawra Sports Stadium.

The attacks on commercial shops are part of the aggression's strategy to target civilian properties, food storage facilities, and to exacerbate the citizens' suffering, aiming to impoverish traders and deter investments in Yemen, effectively targeting the economic front.

The continuous attacks on civilian infrastructure and sports facilities over nine years constitute war crimes, committed under the complicit silence and collusion of the international community.
