Yemen: The US-Saudi aggression intentionally targeted displaced people on July 17, in the years 2015 and 2018, with a series of brutal airstrikes on homes, shops, and agricultural infrastructure in Sa'adah and Hodeidah, causing significant casualties and widespread destruction.

These attacks resulted in 5 martyrs and 5 wounded, and the destruction of dozens of homes, shops, and infrastructure, instilling fear, horror, sadness, and triggering renewed waves of displacement during festive days. Enormous financial losses in both public and private properties were also reported.

2015: 3 Martyrs in US-Saudi Airstrikes on Sa'adah Homes and Markets

On July 17, 2015, US-Saudi coalition airstrikes targeted homes, shops, and the agricultural office in Al-Maqash and Al-Aand districts of Sahar district, Sa'adah Governorate. The attacks killed three members of one family, devastated the market and neighborhood, and destroyed the agricultural office, causing fear, displacement, and anguish among residents. The strikes shattered Eid celebrations, turning joy into mourning and leaving families homeless amidst ongoing aggression and international silence.

2018: 7 Casualties in US-Saudi Airstrikes in Hodeidah

On July 17, 2018, US-Saudi aircraft targeted two displaced people's vehicles in the Kilo-16 area of Al-Hali district, Hodeidah Governorate.

The coalition airstrikes resulted in two martyrs and five injuries, destroyed two vehicles carrying displaced people and their belongings, and instilled fear and terror among those traveling on the road and the residents of the area, prompting thoughts of renewed displacement.

Escaping the Raids:

American and Emirati airstrikes targeting displaced people's vehicles claimed two martyrs and injured five. The objective was to displace and kill people on their escape route, crushing hopes of life in any other area and setting a new equation of "kill or be killed". Those not killed by the coalition's airstrikes and the missile and artillery bombardment of its mercenaries on conflict lines were pursued by enemy aircrafts to kill them on their escape route and its camps, when reached, or managed to escape, left their targeted or neighboring homes in a state of fear, and the road.

This ruthless attack exemplifies the ongoing war crimes and genocidal acts committed against Yemeni displaced populations over the past 9 consecutive years by the US-Saudi coalition. Despite these atrocities, the international community, including UN and humanitarian organizations, has largely failed to address these egregious violations of human rights and international law, prioritizing political maneuvering over the Yemeni people's plight.
