News - Yemen: The head of the National Negotiating Delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, affirmed that the Israeli aggression on Hodeidah will not pass without a response, stressing that the battle with the Zionist enemy will be open-ended. He pointed out that the Israeli aggression is trying to expand the conflict and go beyond the rules of engagement.

"The Israeli aggression on Hodeidah is a desperate attempt to change the defeated image of the enemy on the ground," Abdulsalam said in an interview with Al-Jazeera TV on Sunday. "The Yemeni people will not retreat before any fire, but these fires will ignite their resistance."

Abdulsalam stressed that Yemen is ready and capable of bearing all the consequences and that there are no red lines in its response to the Israeli aggression. He stated that the Israelis should expect a response at any moment.

He explained that the main objective is to defend the oppressed Palestinian people and that the Yemeni people have taken a responsible stand for their cause.

Abdulsalam concluded his statements by saying: "We have enough will and capabilities to wage a long battle; our patience is long, and the battle is important and has its consequences."

On Saturday, Israeli warplanes targeted civilian buildings, oil facilities, and a power station in the Yemeni province of Hodeidah, killing three citizens and injuring 87 others.

Brushing off official accounts that the airstrikes had targeted civilian structures, Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari alleged that the regime’s aircraft had struck “military targets” in Hodeidah.

He also said the strikes had come in response to the attacks that the Yemeni Armed Forces had been carrying out against the occupied Palestinian territories over the past months.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have been targeting the territories as well as Israeli ships and vessels affiliated with the occupying regime since October 7, when Tel Aviv began a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip. They have vowed to keep up their operations as long as the regime sustains the war and a simultaneous siege that it has been enforcing against the Palestinian territory.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sare'e announced after the airstrikes that the response to Israeli aggression would include "vital targets of the Israeli enemy," reiterating their previous statement that Yafa (Jaffa) is considered an unsafe area.
