Unspeakable Scandal: Iran Censures US Over 'Criminal' Netanyahu's Disgraceful Visit, Congress Speech

News - World: Iran has hit out at the US over the current visit by the “criminal” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid nine months of the regime’s genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

“The criminal prime minister of a fake regime is embraced by his supporters after nine months of genocide and infanticide [in Gaza],” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani lamented in a post on his X account on Thursday.

He added that the visit disclosed decades of deceitful efforts by the so-called Western civilization to portray an “innocent and humanitarian image” of it to the world and exposed the “callous and devil” face of the US policies to the entire world.

The Iranian spokesperson criticized the American and European leaders and statesmen for crying out the “most ridiculous slogans” about human rights while the most basic rights of the people of Palestine, including the right to life, security, access to water, food, medicine and treatment, are being violated in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank in the most horrible way before the eyes of the world and Palestinian children are slaughtered every day by the Tel Aviv “butcher” regime.

The Iranian diplomat lashed out at the US administration and Congress for welcoming the Israeli “executioner” despite all such crimes.

Netanyahu landed in Washington late on Monday on a three-day official visit. He addressed the US Congress on Wednesday and plans to meet senior US officials from both parties.

In his speech to Congress, Netanyahu defended Israel’s genocidal aggression against Gaza, called for “total victory” in the nine-month-old war, and lauded US support for Israel’s war, dashing hopes for a ceasefire.

He delivered the speech as massive protests condemned the regime’s war crimes against the Palestinian people outside the fenced-off Capitol.

Police used pepper spray against protesters who chanted “Netanyahu, you can’t hide. You’re committing genocide.”

Netanyahu and his minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant are accused, among other war crimes, of “starvation of civilians as a method of warfare” and “intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population” in the ongoing war, which was waged in October 2023.

The regime's war machine has so far killed more than 39,145 Palestinians, with a devastating impact on children in particular, according to the Gaza health officials. Over 90,257 Palestinians have also sustained injuries.
