The American goal of this move was to deter the expected escalation by countries and resistance movements supporting Palestine and Gaza, according to a statement by U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who explicitly claimed that the deployment of warships indicated "Washington's firm commitment to Israel's security and our determination to deter any state or non-state actor seeking to escalate this war."
The White House primarily had its eyes on Iran and Hezbollah. However, the entrance of Yemen into the fray in support of Palestine, 25 days after the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, came as a surprise to both the American and Israeli adversaries. As Yemeni operations in the Red Sea escalated, the Americans, who had taken over the battle on behalf of the Zionist entity, realized that the Yemenis were not joking. Orders were then issued for Eisenhower to move to the Red Sea after it had been stationed in the eastern Mediterranean for over a month without any threat.
The American aircraft carrier made its usual way, unaware that it was about to embark on a strenuous and fateful journey, the worst in its history of deterrence and terrorizing adversaries.
As usual, the Americans engaged in psychological warfare that had helped them win many of their military battles even before they began. The media engaged in propaganda for the U.S. Navy and its might, focusing on the crown jewel of its forces represented by the aircraft carrier Eisenhower. It is enough to consider the following information to understand why the Americans acted with such confidence and arrogance while warning Yemen against continuing the Red Sea battle and supporting our people in Gaza:
The United States announced an alliance called "Guardian of Prosperity," a multinational naval military alliance established on December 18, 2023, initiated by the United States to counter Yemeni attacks targeting ships dealing with Israel and sailing to and from it through the Red Sea. U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced the formation of the military alliance following a virtual meeting with ministers and officials from over 40 countries, as well as representatives from the European Union and NATO.
In response, less than two days after the announcement of the "Guardian of Prosperity" alliance, the leader of the Yemeni revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi addressed the Americans with firmness, confidence in God, and in the brave Yemeni people and their forces, warning against any adventure they might undertake. In his televised speech on December 20, 2023, he said:
"If the US escalates, we will not stand idly by; we will target it, we will make the American warships, American interests, and American maritime movement a target for our missiles, drones, and military operations. We are not those who stand idly by while the enemy strikes them. We are a people who refuse oppression and rely on God Almighty."
"We cannot fear American threats... If they want to send their soldiers to Yemen, what they will face in Yemen will be much harsher than what they faced in Afghanistan and what they suffered in Vietnam."
"If the Americans want to engage in a direct war and direct aggression against our country, this is what we have wished for since day one: that the war be direct between us and the Americans and Israelis."
Perhaps the captain of the Eisenhower did not listen to the Yemeni leader's speech, or maybe he heard it but did not catch the phrase "American warships," or perhaps he heard this direct threat and ignored it; after all, no great power had ever threatened America, especially not Yemen!
Eisenhower had engaged in countering Yemeni missiles and drones and handled them well, but after the leader's speech, troubles began to haunt Eisenhower and those on board. Yemeni operations in the Red Sea intensified in both quantity and quality, putting Eisenhower on an exhausting state of alert for five months, forcing it to raise the white flag and flee in a resounding setback in front of the whole world.
In a surprising event, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder announced on June 23, 2024, that the Dwight Eisenhower had indeed left the waters of the Red Sea.
What happened in the Red Sea to prompt Eisenhower to depart hastily in the dead of night?
The evening of Friday, May 31, 2024, was pivotal in the history of military confrontations for the Americans and marked a major turning point in favor of Yemen. The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the Yemeni Rocketry Force had successfully targeted the American aircraft carrier Eisenhower in the Red Sea for the first time.
The news was too big for the world to digest. Amid disbelief, skepticism, and surprise, the media cautiously reported the Yemeni Armed Forces' statement. The biggest shock came when Yemen announced targeting Eisenhower for the second time within 24 hours, a development that became the talk of all Arab and international media outlets, which competed to highlight the news and dedicated significant coverage in their political and analytical reports to the qualitative operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces in the Red Sea, culminating in the targeting of Eisenhower multiple times.
Later, on June 21, 2024, Yemeni military media published footage of the test of the Yemeni war boat "Toofan1," named after (Al-Aqsa Storm), and media outlets linked the announcement of this advanced boat to the operation targeting Eisenhower.
But what about Eisenhower and its crew... how did they deal with these events and serious developments, and how did the illusions of grandeur and excessive power evaporate, making the most important American mobile military base in the sea resemble an exhausted frog desperately searching for a lizard's burrow!
The captain of the Eisenhower tried to deny any targeting of his ship, but made a big mistake; a Chinese newspaper specializing in military affairs revealed that the video clip published by the ship's captain was old and had been previously published three months before Eisenhower was targeted, which confirmed the carrier's hit despite significant American secrecy.
Amid these reports, the Yemeni leader came with the definitive news and confirmed in his televised speech on June 20, 2024, that Eisenhower had been targeted for the third time in the northern Red Sea and that it was heading to escape under continued pursuit and bombardment by the Yemeni Armed Forces. He blessed this achievement and described it as important, impactful, and bold.
The leader touched on the American suffering due to Yemeni attacks in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, and the Indian Ocean, to the extent that an American naval expert stated that his country was facing its fiercest combat in Yemen since World War II.
In the meantime, instead of admitting the Yemeni strikes, the Associated Press revealed the exhaustion of the crew of the American aircraft carrier tasked with protecting maritime navigation in the Red Sea, stating: "The seven thousand sailors on board fear the extension of Eisenhower's mission in the region," also pointing out the division within the Pentagon regarding Eisenhower... should it continue in the Red Sea or return from where it came.
Within 48 hours of the speech by the leader Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder announced the departure of the Dwight Eisenhower aircraft carrier strike group from the Red Sea after being stationed in the region for seven months.
It was very good news for the Yemeni and Palestinian people alike, but it was shocking to the American public and surprising to the world. The balances had shifted and the rules of engagement in naval military confrontations had changed when Eisenhower fled and sought refuge in its final resting place!
The good news was not complete until the leader made an appearance, who brought more than one piece of good news this time. He confirmed the flight of Eisenhower from the Red Sea after receiving several Yemeni missile strikes, and then it was targeted in the final moments as it made a sharp turn to escape towards the Suez Canal.
The second good news was greater than friends and foes could comprehend; the leader announced the entry of a hypersonic missile into operational lines, named "Hatim," signifying the destruction of the American enemy's hopes... with this announcement, Yemen became a significant military power, joining a very limited number of countries possessing such missiles.
The third good news came to reinforce the previous announcements, involving the introduction of the highly destructive unmanned war boat "Toofan the Destroyer" which had already entered service and the naval battlefield.
As "Hatim 2" and "Toofan the Destroyer" took effect, the US departed from the Red Sea arena in a shameful defeat, marking a historic victory for Yemen and the culmination of steadfastness and bravery of the Yemeni people.
The last scene of this amazing epic was an announcement of the departure of Eisenhower from the region, acknowledging the capabilities of the Yemeni Armed Forces, which managed to force the world's most powerful country to flee, shattering the myth of the invincible American aircraft carrier and establishing Yemen's name in the annals of history with this unprecedented naval military achievement.
