Subsequently, some Hebrew media outlets reported an initial investigation indicating that air defense systems had difficulty intercepting missiles in "Majdal Shams" in the occupied Syrian Golan. The Israeli army spokesperson announced that the Iron Dome might have mistakenly hit the area, confirming a technical error.
Nature of the Targeting and Incident Area:
In "Majdal Shams," sirens were not activated as they typically are in areas under attack, such as "Kiryat Shmona" and "Nahariya." The Iron Dome did not launch any missiles against the incoming missile, which is usually the case when northern settlements are targeted by the Islamic resistance in Lebanon.
However, the Israeli spokesperson described the victims as Israelis; everyone knows that the residents of "Majdal Shams" pride themselves on being Arab and have refused Israeli citizenship, holding onto their Syrian nationality. Observers believe that "Israel wants to exploit this attack to appease the Druze in the army and police."
The Zionist Narrative and Notable Hebrew Analyses:
Hebrew media and their affiliates focused on disseminating vast amounts of misinformation, adopting an unprecedentedly inciting and aggressive narrative against Lebanon and its resistance.
They said, "Defense Minister Gallant can no longer claim that the red line has been crossed; it was significantly crossed last night."
Army Radio correspondent Doron Kadosh stated, "About an hour later, the Prime Minister will hold a phone consultation from Washington with the Defense Minister and senior officials in 'Kirya' in 'Tel Aviv,' adding that 'there must be a strong response on the northern border.'"
Zionist Minister Hillel Bitton Rosen commented, "The images from Majdal Shams are images we haven't seen since 7/10.. It's time to open fire on all of Lebanon."
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that "Hezbollah crossed red lines."
A statement from Netanyahu's office mentioned, "Prime Minister Netanyahu was briefed on the details of the incident in 'Majdal Shams' and is now holding a security consultation with his military secretary, followed by an assessment of the security situation with security system leaders."
Zionist Lieberman said, "Nasrallah is responsible for the death of many children in Majdal Shams, and it is time for him to pay the price."
He added, "The Majdal Shams incident will lead to a dramatic shift in the fight with Hezbollah."
Opposition leader Yair Lapid said, "Iran-backed Hezbollah killed innocent Israelis. We have a responsibility to protect our citizens and restore security. The situation in the north cannot continue as it is, and the Israeli government must put an end to this chaos, and the world must stand with Israel in its self-defense."
Chairman of the National Security Committee, Knesset member Zvika Fogel, said, "I want to see Lebanon closed and Hezbollah burning - Prime Minister, enough containment - the rule of the Galilee and Golan is like the rule of Tel Aviv - let's attack." "It's time for a prisoner exchange deal and to direct the escalation to the northern front."
Zionist Smotrich said, "Lebanon must pay for what happened in Majdal Shams," "Nasrallah must be assassinated in response to the Majdal Shams attack."
Interior Minister Moshe Arbel confirmed that "the response to the Golan bombing cannot be less than the response to the Houthis' bombing of Tel Aviv."
The Lebanese Position on the Zionist Narrative:
In the context of adopting the Israeli narrative and expanding it, so-called investigation authorities and military analysts quickly blamed Hezbollah for the incident. An army investigator told Channel 14 Hebrew that "the missile that fell in Majdal Shams is of the Falaq1 type."
Hezbollah's statement denied these allegations, saying, "The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon categorically denies the allegations made by some enemy media and various media platforms about targeting Majdal Shams."
It confirmed that "the Islamic Resistance has no connection to the incident at all and categorically denies all false allegations in this regard."
Regarding official Lebanese positions, Wiam Wahhab pointed out that "Majdal Shams," the town that preserved its identity, Arabism, and attachment to Syria, is paying a heavy price today. Salute to our people in Majdal Shams and condolences to the families of the martyrs. Let's first find out what happened. Our blood is not cheap, and we demand an independent investigation with UN participation to uncover the circumstances of the Majdal Shams massacre."
The Lebanese government issued a statement condemning "all acts of violence and attacks against all civilians," calling for the "immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts."
The statement stressed that "targeting civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and contrary to humanitarian principles."
Former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt said, "Everyone should be aware of what the enemy is working on in terms of seditions," calling on everyone in Lebanon and the occupied Golan to be cautious of "any slipping or incitement within the enemy's destructive project."
Jumblatt pointed out that the occupation has long been working to ignite seditions, fragment the region, and target its components, adding, "We thwarted the Israeli project in the past," but "it rears its head again, and we are on alert against it alongside the resistance and all resistors."
Opinions of Analysts and Experts:
Regarding the incident, journalist Firas Al-Shoufi noted that "what happened in occupied 'Majdal Shams' is still unclear, and the victims are residents of the town, not settlers. It is certain that the Lebanese resistance cannot deliberately target Syrian civilians."
Military expert Omar Maarabouni confirmed in a direct intervention on an Arab channel, "Firstly, the resistance has no targets in Majdal Shams, and if there were, there is no decision to target civilian targets even now, especially among our Arab Syrian people."
He continued, "Secondly, the nearest Israeli military target is about 3 km away from Majdal Shams, and resistance missile launchers cannot miss this much distance."
He added, "Thirdly, it is highly likely that the explosion was caused by an Israeli Iron Dome interceptor missile, or the enemy itself targeted the location. The history of this enemy is full of similar practices to exploit the situation for escalation," and "Regardless of what happened, the enemy will exploit the situation, meaning we will be facing a different scenario in the coming hours."
Journalist Hassan Alik wrote, commenting that "In the 2006 war, Hezbollah missiles mistakenly hit an Arab town in the occupied Palestinian territories, resulting in the martyrdom of Palestinians. At that time, Hezbollah did not deny its responsibility but confirmed it, apologized for the unintended mistake, and the Secretary-General spoke about it in a speech during the war, extending condolences to the families of the martyrs."
Alik continued, "I recall that incident to say that the party has the courage to admit mistakes, which gives credibility to its denial of responsibility for the missile falling in Majdal Shams."
Military analyst Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said, "It is likely that an Iron Dome missile mistakenly fell given the nature and pattern of its fall."
Arab writer and analyst Pierre Abi Saab commented, "The resistance did not announce that it targeted the occupied Golan in the past hours, and it seems that a malfunction in the Iron Dome, which has proven its failure, caused the deaths of more than ten victims in Majdal Shams."
The global "Monitor War" website confirmed that "since Hezbollah denied its responsibility for the attack on Majdal Shams, the responsible party is either a missile fired from Syria or a malfunction in the Iron Dome."
Failure of Interceptor Missiles During Operation Al-Aqsa Flood:
On 12/2/2023, Channel 12 Hebrew said, "A failure in an Iron Dome missile during an interception caused its fall."
On 5/11/2023, the entity's army said, "An Iron Dome interceptor missile fell in 'Rishon Lezion' near 'Tel Aviv' due to a technical error," and the Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that no damage was caused by the interceptor missile falling in 'Rishon Lezion.'
On 23/4/2024, Channel 13 Hebrew confirmed that "damage and fire occurred in a storage house in 'Sderot' due to interceptor shrapnel."
On 25/6/2024, Channel 12 Hebrew noted that "five fire crews are working to extinguish a fire in an open area caused by interceptor shrapnel that fell in the last hour in the 'Dishon' area."
On 20/7/2024, the Israeli army spokesperson said, "Following alarms of hostile aircraft infiltration in the north, interceptor missiles were launched at several suspicious aerial targets that crossed from Lebanese territories, and several incidents of fall were observed in the 'Zoura' area. As a result of the fall, two Israeli soldiers were moderately and slightly injured and were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, and their families were notified."
Final Evaluation of Future Developments:
Based on the previous data, it appears that the Zionist enemy, as usual, is trying to cover up its mistakes and exploit them to justify any upcoming escalation steps against Lebanon and "Hezbollah," and to exploit the incident and publish images to gain international sympathy, confirming its insistence on holding Hezbollah responsible.
Observers considered this as preparation by the entity for escalation operations against Lebanon, trying to pave the way for it and obtain international legitimacy after securing it from the US administration by exploiting the victims of "Majdal Shams."
In this context, the head of the "Loyalty to the Resistance" bloc in the Lebanese parliament, Muhammad Raad, affirmed that the end of the Israeli entity "will be in its choice to launch a wide war against Lebanon."
He said, "The enemy's goals fell in Gaza due to the steadfastness of the people of Gaza, the heroism of its resistors, and the support and backing from the resistance axis."
Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib said that any major Israeli attack on Lebanon "will lead to a regional war," adding that "the war will be destructive for everyone, not just Lebanon as some believe, so it is better to exercise restraint," calling for "the formation of an international committee to investigate the source of the attack on Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan, possibly in cooperation with UNIFIL (the international peacekeeping forces on the border)."
