News - Middle East: Growing panic within the Israeli entity over the possibility of Hezbollah and Yemeni Armed Forces targeting Israeli energy facilities amid the ongoing escalation, the Hebrew newspaper Ma'ariv reported on Tuesday.

According to the newspaper, a drone was intercepted a few days ago, suspected of targeting the gas platform in the Karish gas field in the Mediterranean Sea.

It said this incident highlights the escalating threats from Hezbollah and the Yemeni Armed Forces against "Israeli" energy facilities.

Given the increased use of drones in recent years and the impossibility of ensuring 100 percent airtight protection, it considered a scenario of attacking a gas platform as not unlikely.

"In a reality where approximately 70 percent of electricity consumption in Israel comes from natural gas produced by these platforms, there is no doubt that this is a scenario that should worry us," it added.

"It is hard to imagine what the security cost and economic impact would be in a scenario where the Karish platform is attacked. The potential damage to the economy is very significant, likely leading to an increase in natural gas prices, as well as in electricity, fuel, and transportation costs," it said.

The newspaper quoted a source in the energy industry and a former senior defense official as saying, "Although Israel has the means to protect these platforms, there is always a chance that this protection could be breached. While this is an extreme scenario, it is very important to prepare for it."

In a Thursday speech, Sayyed Abdulmalik stated that the US failed to prevent Red Sea operations, as noted in a secret message from the US Middle East commander to the Secretary of Defense. An American researcher mentioned the "Guardian of Prosperity" operation's failure.

He remarked that Israeli media expressed concerns over threats, acknowledging Ansarullah's manpower and military skills. He emphasized the role of the Yemeni people and Armed Forces in supporting Palestinians.

The Yafa operation and its impact were widely covered by Israeli, American, and British media. Yemen's success in deploying a drone to central Tel Aviv was seen as a major failure of Israeli air defenses. Israelis recognize the Yemeni army's resolve and consider them an "unusual enemy" not easily deterred.
