News - Yemen: Yemen's President Mahdi Al-Mashat has declared three days of mourning and ordered flags to be lowered in the country following the martyrdom of resistance leader Ismail Haniyeh. 

In a statement, President Mashat condemned the heinous assassination by the Israeli enemy, noting that the enemy has been in a state of confusion and failure on all fronts since October 7.

He emphasized that the martyrdom of Haniyeh is a significant loss for the Palestinian people and the entire Islamic nation.

He also affirmed that Yemen will stand firmly with the mujahedeen in Hamas and all resistance fronts, stressing that the Zionist and American enemies must bear the responsibility for expanding the war and confrontation, including the wave of assassinations against resistance leaders.

President Mashat called for unity and solidarity among all resistance factions to face the challenges confronting the nation, confirming that the Yemeni people will continue to support the Palestinian cause until victory is achieved.

On Wednesday morning, Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence in the Iranian capital was hit in an attack.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said the attack is under investigation and the results will be announced later in the day.

Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
