News - Middle East: A report by the Union Center for Research and Development has revealed the staggering $6.4 trillion cost of US wars targeting the resistance axis in the Middle East since 2001.

The report outlines that $5.4 trillion was allocated to military budgets, with an additional $1 trillion spent on veterans' care. The costs covered land, sea, and air operations in regions not under US control.

The Union Center, a leading Lebanese research institution focused on political and media issues in the Middle East, detailed the expenditures, including land wars, aerial sorties, naval warfare, and operational costs for aircraft carriers and planes. The report also highlighted the broader financial impacts, such as increased debt, inflation, and the tax burden on American citizens.

The ongoing battle in the Red Sea has been particularly costly, with US forces firing around 800 missiles and conducting seven rounds of airstrikes since November 2023, marking the most sustained military campaign since 2019.

Members of the US Congress and former Pentagon officials have expressed frustration over the billions spent without effectively stopping Yemeni operations supporting Gaza.

Politico recently published a report stating that the US has been engaged in significant military actions in the Red Sea for nearly a year, contradicting President Joe Biden's claims that the US is not at war.
