Axios Reveals Absence of US Naval Vessels in the Red Sea for the First Time

News - Middle East: Axios published a map on Wednesday showing no US naval vessels in the Red Sea. The map shows US naval assets' deployment in Western Asia, indicating a complete absence of US ships in the Red Sea.

The map revealed that in the Gulf of Oman and the Mediterranean, there are 18 US naval vessels: in the Gulf of Oman, there are two aircraft carriers and eight destroyers, while in the Mediterranean, there are a submarine, three destroyers, and three amphibious ships. No ships, destroyers, or submarines are present in the Red Sea.

US Navy Rear Adm. Marc Miguez, who commands operations in the Red Sea, said in an interview published Monday that US leaders declined more aggressive strategies on Yemen due to concerns about Iranian retaliation, amidst the absence of American presence in the Red Sea.

Earlier, Foreign Policy magazine discussed the failure of intense Western naval operations, which lasted several months, to stop Yemeni attacks in the Red Sea.
