Ongoing War Crimes: Sa'adah Under Attack
On September 5, 2015, the US-Saudi coalition launched brutal airstrikes on the city of Sa'adah and surrounding areas in Haydan district. These attacks killed one person, injured five, and caused widespread destruction, forcing civilians to flee their homes and amplifying their suffering. The deliberate targeting of civilians highlights the immense humanitarian crisis in Yemen:
On this day, the coalition bombed Maran in Sa'adah with 13 airstrikes, destroying homes and killing one person while wounding five others.
The coalition also targeted Bab al-Yemen in Sa'adah with two airstrikes, destroying businesses and key infrastructure. Bab al-Yemen, once a hub of economic activity, was reduced to ruins, leaving dozens of families without livelihoods.
20 Airstrikes on a Vital Road in Hajjah
The coalition launched over 20 airstrikes on the main road between Haradh and Abs in Hajjah, killing one person and crippling essential infrastructure. This attack isolated local communities, worsening conditions for the sick, elderly, and children.
These airstrikes were a clear violation of international humanitarian law and human rights, targeting civilian infrastructure and leaving a lasting impact on survivors, especially children. The international community has been urged to hold those responsible accountable and to stop these war crimes against the Yemeni people.
