September 8 Over 9 Years: 117 Casualties in US-Saudi Airstrikes on Yemen

Yemen: On September 8, in the years 2015 and 2018, the US-Saudi aggression continued its war crimes and genocide against the Yemeni people.

The aggression targeted densely populated residential areas, homes, farms, mosques, infrastructure, and civilian facilities in Sana'a, Sa'adah, and Hodeidah. These deliberate airstrikes resulted in 13 martyrs, 104 injuries, and the destruction of dozens of homes, Red Sea Mills, civilian facilities, and citizens' properties. This led to mass displacement, exacerbated suffering, and worsened living conditions due to intensified siege and food shortages.

Here are the key details of the crimes committed on this day:

2015: 98 Martyrs and Injured in Sana'a

On September 8, 2015, the US-Saudi aggression launched airstrikes on civilians and their properties in Sana'a, particularly in the Bani Al-Harith, Thawrah, Maeen, and As-Safiyah districts. These attacks left dozens of dead and injured, including children and women, and forced many families to flee their homes. One of the most significant incidents was the bombing of Sheikh Yahya Ayedh's home in Maeen, which resulted in seven martyrs and 15 injured.

The aftermath was devastating: bodies under the rubble, widespread destruction, and families displaced and traumatized. The strikes continued throughout the night, leaving behind sorrow and horror in the midst of a humanitarian disaster.

2018: Targeting Civilians in Sa'adah

The aggression also struck homes and schools in the Razih district of Sa'adah, destroying civilian infrastructure and displacing entire communities. Schools were demolished, depriving children of education and further compounding the suffering of the Yemeni people.

2018: Targeting Civilians in Red Sea Mills in Hodeidah

In Hodeidah, the Red Sea Mills, vital for food production, were targeted, resulting in 19 injuries and the destruction of essential infrastructure, further aggravating the humanitarian crisis amid a food shortage.

These crimes are part of the ongoing aggression against Yemen, aiming to kill, displace, and starve the population while deepening their suffering.
