In his speech marking the 10th anniversary of the September 21 Revolution on Saturday, Sayyed Abdulmalik emphasized that prior to the revolution, the American ambassador was the primary decision-maker, imposing his authority in all sectors. However, following the revolution, the American ambassador fled Yemen, along with the US Marines, who had a base near the American embassy in Sana’a, which served as a control center for political decision-making in the country.
Sayyed Abdulmalik noted that since the revolution, the Yemeni people have experienced freedom and independence. He explained that one of the revolution's main goals was to preserve Yemen's national identity, particularly in the face of foreign interference targeting the faith-based values of the Yemeni people.
He highlighted how Yemen was under systematic cultural, intellectual, and moral assault, with external forces seeking to dilute the nation's identity. This attack on Yemen’s identity occurred through "soft power" strategies aimed at eroding faith and moral principles.
Sayyed Abdulmalik also reaffirmed Yemen's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause, stating that despite external pressures, including blockades and conspiracies, Yemen has remained committed to supporting Palestine. He criticized the neglect of other nations in addressing the Palestinian issue, while Yemen continues to maintain its unwavering stance.
He emphasized that, had American control continued in Yemen, faith-based values would have been eroded, and normalization with Israel would have become the norm due to US and Israeli influence.
Preserving State Institutions
Sayyed Abdulmalik outlined the revolution’s goals, particularly rebuilding state institutions on the principles of freedom, independence, and faith-based values. He stressed the importance of prioritizing military and security capabilities to protect the Yemeni people and safeguard the achievements of the revolution.
He noted that Yemen's military capabilities have significantly advanced, with the Rocktery Force representing a symbol of this progress. Military manufacturing has also reached a high level, enabling the country’s Armed Forces to defend against external threats.
National Partnership
Sayyed Abdulmalik highlighted the enemies' attempts to divide Yemen's social fabric, aiming to create internal discord to serve foreign interests. He stressed the importance of national unity and partnership, rejecting exclusion and working toward social cohesion, which stands in stark contrast to American-led projects of fragmentation and division.
The Leader stated that establishing the principle of national partnership, rejecting exclusion, striving for unity, and extinguishing the fires of discord, social issues are projects of the September 21 Revolution. These stand in stark contrast to American projects, which fall under the categories of fragmentation, division, and disintegration in every aspect.
He pointed out that Yemen has the vision, concepts, and motivation to build its economy and achieve self-sufficiency, particularly in agriculture, despite the blockade and economic challenges. He emphasized that if American control had persisted, Yemen would have faced collapse across all sectors.
In conclusion, Sayyed Abdulmalik highlighted Yemen's resilience in achieving economic progress, particularly in agriculture, where the country now has a surplus for export despite the challenges it faces.
In 2014, the people of Yemen led a popular uprising against the Saudi-backed unpopular regime of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi.
As protests gripped the country, Ansarallah on September 21 took control of the capital Sana’a following a rapid advance south from their northern stronghold of Sa'ada.
The massively popular protests were against the incompetent and corrupt regime in Sana’a backed by Riyadh.
In a bid to crush the resistance and reinstall the Hadi regime, a Saudi-led coalition launched a ferocious bombing campaign on the country barely six months later.
The war, which has been enjoying unstinting arms, logistical, and political support on the part of the United States, has killed tens of thousands of Yemenis and turned the entire country into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
