UKMTO: Reports of Tanker Suffering Damage After Multiple Attacks in Red Sea
News - Middle East: UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported this Thursday morning that unknown projectile hit a tanker in the Red Sea, southwest of Hodeidah Governorate, Yemen, causing damage.
In its statement, the UKMTO mentioned that the tanker's captain reported the vessel being struck by an unidentified projectile, resulting in damage. However, there were no reports of fire or human casualties. Relevant authorities are currently investigating the incident.
The statement also noted that all crew members are unharmed, and the ship is continuing its journey toward its next docking port.
In November 2023, Yemeni Armed Forces began targeting Israeli ships, or vessels linked to Israel, in the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean, and as far as the Mediterranean, using missiles and drones. This action is in solidarity with Gaza and in response to the ongoing siege and genocide since October 7, 2023, as well as the aggression led by the United States and the United Kingdom against Yemen.
