These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of four civilians and the wounding of dozens, the destruction of several homes and farms, and widespread damage to surrounding properties and homes, instilling fear in children and women, triggering displacement and homelessness, and exacerbating the suffering of the people under complete international and UN silence.
2015: Over 15 Casualties, Destruction of Homes and Farms in Sa'adah
On October 16, 2015, US-Saudi warplanes committed new war crimes against innocent civilians in Sa'adah Province, targeting their homes and farms mercilessly. These horrific crimes led to the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians, including children, and caused extensive property damage, increasing the suffering of the Yemeni people.
In the Haydan District, the airstrikes targeted the home of Ali Hussein Rafi’, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to others. In another tragic attack, one civilian was martyred, and ten others were injured in airstrikes on homes in the same district.
The cries of children filled the air, the blood of innocents stained the land, homes were destroyed, and dreams shattered. This is the reality for civilians in Saada, while the world remains eerily silent about these heinous crimes.
These horrific crimes highlight the ongoing violations of international humanitarian law by the US-Saudi aggression and their deliberate targeting of innocent civilians. The international community is urged to hold the aggressors accountable and pressure them to end the war and the suffering of the Yemeni people.
2015: 7 Casualties in Saudi Aggression on the Speaker of Parliament's House in Dhamar
In another war crime on October 16, 2015, US-Saudi airstrikes targeted the home of Sheikh Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, the Speaker of Parliament, along with several citizens' homes in the Jahrah area of Dhamar Province. The strikes resulted in the martyrdom of two civilians, one of them the son of Sheikh Yahya Al-Ra’i, and the injury of five others, along with significant damage to civilian properties.
The intense airstrikes on the home of Sheikh Al-Ra’i and nearby homes displaced dozens of families and instilled fear and terror in women and children, adding to the suffering of residents already facing dire humanitarian conditions.
2016: Airstrikes on Citizen's Home in Sana'a Destroy Homes and Displace Families
On October 16, 2016, US-Saudi warplanes targeted the home of Saad Al-Sarafi in the Bani Hushaysh District of Sana'a, causing significant destruction to homes and nearby properties. This attack resulted in the displacement and homelessness of several families, forcing them to seek safety elsewhere in a clear violation of international and humanitarian laws.
The destruction left homes in ruins, and women were seen weeping as they looked at the wreckage of houses where they had lived for decades.
2019: Child Wounded in Shelling of Homes and Shops in Hodeidah
On October 16, 2019, Saudi-Emirati-American mercenaries shelled homes and shops in the Al-Zohour neighborhood of Al-Hali District in Hodeidah with artillery and missile fire. This attack wounded a child and caused widespread damage to properties, displacing families and deepening their suffering, in a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement in Hodeidah.
In this tragic scene, Hodeidah's neighborhoods turned into open war zones, with ongoing violations of the ceasefire. Mercenaries ignored the safety of innocent civilians, targeting homes with shells and missiles.
The people of Hodeidah and nearby districts, living near the frontlines since 2018, suffer from a lack of clean water, food, and shelter. Children, in particular, endure deep psychological trauma from the violence they have witnessed, with many too afraid to leave their homes.
This brutal crime demonstrates the Saudi-Emirati-American aggression’s continued targeting of innocent civilians and Yemen’s infrastructure, violating international humanitarian law and the Sweden Agreement for a ceasefire. International silence encourages more violations, putting civilians at greater risk.
