October 18: US-Saudi Aggression's War Crimes in Yemen Over the Years

Yemen: On October 18, in both 2015 and 2018, the US-Saudi aggression continued its war crimes against civilians and civilian infrastructure. The attacks targeted residential areas, homes, farms, mosques, wedding ceremonies, and markets, causing destruction and devastation across Saadah and Hodeidah provinces.

The airstrikes and artillery shelling resulted in 23 martyrs and 15 injured, along with the destruction of a mosque, homes, farms, shops, and a brick factory, leaving extensive damage to surrounding properties and triggering a wave of fear among women and children. The attacks also caused displacement and intensified the suffering of civilians, all while the international community, the United Nations, and legal and humanitarian organizations remained silent.

On October 18, 2015, US-Saudi warplanes brutally targeted a wedding ceremony in the Kitaf area of Minabbah district, Saadah province. The airstrikes resulted in a war crime, with three people martyred and five others injured. The incident sparked widespread fear and horrific scenes, a tragedy that deeply shamed humanity.

Three years later, on October 18, 2018, it committed two separate war crimes against civilians in Hodeidah. The first strike targeted Al-Rahma Mosque and nearby homes and properties in the Al-Maraweah district, resulting in 17 martyrs and five injured, including women and children. The second strike targeted homes in the July 7 area of Al-Hali district, leading to three martyrs and two injured. The airstrikes caused displacement, fear, and worsened living conditions, despite ongoing talks of a ceasefire overseen by the United Nations, which remained silent on the continuing violations.

July 7 Area: A New Wound Still Bleeds

Simultaneously, the July 7 area in Al-Hali district faced another humanitarian catastrophe when Saudi-led airstrikes targeted civilian homes, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to two others. This second war crime, against civilians and civilian objects, constitutes a violation of international and humanitarian laws.

October 18, 2018: 3 Injured by Saudi Army Shelling in Saada Market

On the same day, the Saudi enemy army and its mercenaries shelled the Al-Mashnaq popular market in Shada district and civilian properties in the Razih border district of Saadah. These attacks resulted in three injuries, property damage, and widespread fear among shoppers and local residents, further compounding the suffering.

Razih Border District: Under Constant Attack

Also on October 18, the aggression extended its hand to the Razih border district, targeting civilian properties with artillery shelling. The repeated attacks directly targeting civilians increased fear and panic among residents, forcing many to abandon their homes and farms, leading to displacement and homelessness in the face of ongoing suffering and shortages of food, water, medicine, and basic services.
