October 20 over 9 Years: 41 Casualties in US-Saudi War Crimes on Yemen

Yemen: On October 20, during the years 2015, 2016, and 2017, the US-Saudi aggression continued committing war crimes and horrific massacres, engaging in systematic destruction with brutal airstrikes targeting homes, residential areas, farms, properties, and public roads in the governorates of Sa'adah, Taiz, Marib, Amran, and Hajjah.

These strikes resulted in 23 martyrs and 18 injured, including women and children, along with the destruction of properties, homes, and farms belonging to dozens of families. The aggression also devastated service institutions, waging an open war on civilians and civilian infrastructure, displacing many families, and increasing their suffering amid harsh living conditions caused by the aggression and blockade, all under the watchful eye of the world, which has remained silent.

Here are the key details of the aggression’s crimes against the Yemeni people on this day:

2015: 14 Casualties in Aggression Airstrikes on Taiz:

In another tragic incident added to the record of US-Saudi aggression crimes against Yemen, the aggression’s air force viciously targeted the security administration building in Al-Jund area, Al-Ta’iziyah district, on October 20, 2015. This resulted in the martyrdom of eight citizens and the injury of four others. A similar airstrike also hit Al-Mokha district, injuring two men critically.

On that fateful day, the sound of death echoed through the streets of Taiz, turning moments of calm into cries for help. The security building was not a military target but a public service facility. Yet, the aggression’s airstrikes did not differentiate between civilians and military, between government buildings and residential homes.

The fallen martyrs were performing their duties, and the wounded were left with physical and emotional scars far deeper than their injuries. Behind these cold numbers are painful human stories of families losing their providers, friends losing loved ones, and a community losing part of its social fabric.

2015: Two Martyrs and One Injured on Sa'adah:

On the same day in 2015, US-Saudi aggression warplanes targeted homes and properties in the areas of Ghamar and Al-Shawarq in Razih district, Sa'adah governorate, with several brutal airstrikes. These attacks resulted in two martyrs, one injury, and widespread damage to properties and homes, forcing dozens of families to flee and increasing their suffering.

2015: Airstrike on Marib:

Also on October 20, 2015, the aggression air force targeted the home of citizen Saleh Ta'iman in Sirwah district, Marib governorate, destroying the house and causing extensive damage to surrounding homes and properties, instilling fear in the hearts of children and forcing families to flee.

2016: Three Martyrs in Airstrikes on Farms in Baqim, Sa'adah:

On October 20, 2016, the aggression air force struck citizens' farms in Baqim district, Sa'adah governorate, causing extensive damage and loss to trees, solar systems, and irrigation networks, worsening the locals' suffering.

2017: 16 Casualties in Airstrikes and Cluster Bomb Explosions in Sa'adah:

On October 20, 2017, two separate war crimes were committed. In one, brutal airstrikes on homes in Al-Ghor area, Ghamr district, Sa'adah governorate, led to a massacre where six people were martyred, and five others were injured. In another, a cluster bomb left by the aggression in Qahza area exploded, injuring five children and terrifying local residents.

2017: Four Martyrs and One Injured in an Airstrike on Hajjah:

On the same day in 2017, the aggression air force targeted the farm of citizen Mansour Al-Hamdani in Al-Jarr area, Abs district, Hajjah governorate, with brutal airstrikes, killing four people and injuring another, causing damage to the farm.

These attacks against civilians are war crimes that demand international and humanitarian action to hold the war criminals accountable and deliver justice for the Yemeni people.
