The assaults resulted in 71 martyrs and dozens of injuries, including women and children, as well as the destruction of numerous homes, markets, a factory, and several bridges. They left many families displaced and destitute, with millions of dollars in property losses. This added to the fear and suffering of children and women, creating tragic scenes that remain a disgrace to the international community and its legal, human rights, and humanitarian institutions.
2015: The Bridges of Baqim, Witnesses of Aggression's Brutality
On November 7, 2015, US-Saudi aggression added another crime to its record against the Yemeni people, deliberately targeting vital bridges in Baqim District, Sa'adah Governorate. These bridges served as lifelines for the residents, enabling the transport of humanitarian aid, goods, and people.
Through savage airstrikes, the aggression turned these bridges to rubble, isolating the region. Farmers could no longer transport their produce to markets, patients could not reach hospitals, and children were cut off from schools, worsening residents' hardships.
2017: 4 Casualties in Airstrikes on Sa'adah
On November 7, 2017, the US-Saudi air force committed two new war crimes: one in the Yasanm Market in Baqim District and the other targeting citizen properties in Maran, Haidan District, Sa'adah Governorate. These attacks left one martyr, three injured, and cut off a crucial lifeline.
In the vibrant Yasanm Market, sounds of vendors and the scent of spices filled the air. But that day turned tragic when airstrikes suddenly erupted, spreading death and destruction among shoppers.
2017: 60 Casualties in a Brutal Massacre in Hajjah
On the same day, the US-Saudi air force committed a brutal massacre in Haran, Afalh Al-Yemen District, Hajjah Governorate. A series of targeted airstrikes killed 60 people and injured many others, instilling fear among residents and exacerbating their suffering.
At 11 a.m., airstrikes targeted a citizen’s home in Haran. Residents rushed to rescue the victims, only to be hit again by further airstrikes, which also targeted ambulances, killing medical staff and escalating the tragedy.
2018: 15 Casualties in an Aggression Crime on Hodeidah
On November 7, 2018, the aggression added another crime to its record by bombing the Yemani factory and several neighborhoods in Al-Hali District, Hodeidah. The strikes killed two civilians and injured 13 others, leaving families suffering and workers without livelihoods.
2018: 10 Casualties in an Attack on a Family Home in Hajjah
The aggression also targeted the home of Hassan Al-Omari in the Moram area, Harad District, Hajjah, killing eight people, including children and women, injuring others, and displacing many families.
2018: A Child Wounded by Cluster Bombs in Sa'adah
On the same day, a child playing in nature was injured by a cluster bomb left behind by the aggression in Bani Huwaidi, Kitaf District, Sa'adah. His family rushed him to the hospital, but his future now lies in doubt.
The crimes of aggression committed on this day are but one of thousands of war crimes and acts of genocide against Yemen, calling for an international and UN response to stop the ongoing US-Saudi aggression on Yemen for over nine years. This remains a stain on the conscience of international and humanitarian institutions that have failed to fulfill their moral responsibilities toward an unarmed people’s suffering.
